(it seems that each of the "stars" that is missing from my line up is either still injured or not match fit - they can sit on the bench, to be called on if it is nil nil or worse at h-time).
Surely the best way to get them match fit is to play them?

I think Owen will score today. And if he doesn't score against this lot who is he going to score against?

And once again I am forced to explain that there is no reason why you would ever have to choose between an international trophy or a domestic trophy. They are not mutually exclusive.
Nobody's forcing you to anything mate.

And if you read my post earlier, you'll understand that I wasn't implying that I don't want England to have success - I just place a far greater premium on club honours than internationals. Nor was I suggesting that supporting a club precludes you from supporting your international team.

I just woke up today & decided I'd prefer to see Shaka have a great day than any of the players in the England set-up. I'm sure when we come to support Sweden, I'll be backing us all the way - but not today.

I'm afraid for any true Englishman/woman you can't root for Shaka today. Shaka isn't representing West Ham today he is representing Trinidad and Tobago (and he was born in England?)

T+T aren't going to go any further in this competition. As much as I love Shaka as an England fan I hope Owen puts 3 past him.

I hope to god Errikson doesn't risk Rooney. He is not ready and we don't need him to beat T+T. If Errikson does play Rooney and he gets a re occurance of his injury he should be strung up.

...which is of course a fair point. I was just wondering when Sven would have the cojones to play Walcott, if he doesn't get a game today.

Plus, Owen looked so far off the pace in the first match that he might be scared into playing better if he has to watch the future of the team play without him for 45...

this by rights should be a comfortable victory for us and despite T & T being on a high at the moment I predict a 3-0 win for us..

I'd be very happy with 0.0 (especially as I've backed it at 17-1), with Shaka playing a blinder & saving a penalty from Fat Frank in the 90th minute.

That result could have both England and T&T / West Ham, going through to the next round.

I don't think it woudl do England any harm to have a bad result either. Might force Sven to make some changes to team & tactics (is it too late to call up Ashton, Harewood, Etherington, Reo Coker & Anton?).

I honestly believe that a team of currne t& ex West Ham players, managed by Brooking, would do better in this world cup then Sven's mob.

This is real crap. We have no energy at all. Rooney will come in in the 2nd and probably bail us out. Not encoraged by our chances of getting beyond the round of 16.

Dire is too generous.

Its like WWI tactics by Sven. Over the top to crouch who hits the corner flag with an open goal in front of him.

Wouldn't win a raffle they way they have been playing so far

The 3 subs really livened things up. I'd like to see more of Lennon.
