Media / public slating of England - non whu

Post by kitthehammer »

No neither game has been pretty but particularly in the last match we saw 10 T+T men behind the ball for England to attack. Ask any west ham fan what it was like week in, week out, whilst we were in the championship for two seasons and they will describe this scenario, say it was awful to watch, our team struggled to show any skill because they are blocked out and everyone is marked closely, but you need to have patience in order to finally break the opposition down. Your class will tell in the end.

Yes England can improve but even if the T+T players were all conference level, it still takes a great deal of time to break them down. It should also be said that at least we had a plan B which worked to win that match. So why the hell is everybody being so bloody crtical?
We are in the next round with a game to spare, we havn't conceded any goals and few of the other top teams have performed particularly well yet either. Honestly, its like the disappointment of the last 40 years never existed. I just feel like saying "Be happy you miserable bastards!"

Its always the same people expect us to play like the 1970 Brazil team all the time. They need to remember the style of football we play and as you said the way the opposition play against us.

Even with their whole team behind the ball we still created a lot of chances.

Patience may be key...but...surely waiting until the 84th minute to score against a team like T&T is foolish. We needed to stick one in of the MANY chance we had so that the team can then calm down and play in there comfort zone. That doesn't include having John Terry clearing off the line to save the day!!
