I don't dislike the Czechs, but still hope that Ghana qualify thru the group.
Essien is better than I'd given him credit for.

Apart from Ecuador, Ghana seem to be the only genuine "surprise package".

Wondering if there was any substance in the "Appiah rumour", because the guy, in my opinion looks a superb all-round footballer, and exactly what we are looking for in the centre of the park....

What a great game and oh by the way a Ghana victory puts the US of A right back in it. Of course they still have to beat Italy.

My Ghanaian work colleague was disappointed after the Italy game. She will be much Appiah on Monday.

Very, very entertaining game....good to see an African team win and nice to see an upset in the competition. Appiah for Upton Park, please. And the "clown" keeper made me eat my words...

Well, without Koller upfront, the Czechs look seriously lightweight and short of attacking options. Also, I thought that they were found out against a strong, direct Ghana, and the Czechs really struggled to compete against them. That's not to take anything away from Ghana though, they played really well, and I think they have one of the best midfields in the competition.

Excellent performance by Ghana! They were full of energy all day! Good luck to them! Czechs looked abit clueless going forward to be honest..............lack of discipline from experienced players such as nedved lead to them being offside way too much!

Hopefully Appiah doesn't play too well or somebody else will snatch him up, also Ghana could give Brazil a go with their pace and strength in midfield!
