WEST HAM boss Sam Allardyce has been installed as an early 8-1 favourite in Hills' betting on the first manager to leave his position in the upcoming Premier League season.
Allardyce guided the Hammers back up to the top flight via the Championship play-offs in May and will need a fast start in terms of points, from what looks a kind early set of fixtures, if he is to keep the Upton Park faithful and board happy.
Three new gaffers are next in Hills' list at 9-1 - Norwich's Chris Hughton, Swansea's Michael Laudrup and West Brom's Steve Clarke.

I don't think Mackie is that bad, is he?
I know we tried to sign him in Janury when he was coming back from injury. He fought his way into their first team and did well scoring a few times in the process.
I wonder though if it's new interest or just a re-hash of Januarys story?

BFS, favourite in the Sack Race, eh? See, I'd have had him pegged as one of the safest managers in the division. Cheers CH, as always

Thanks CH. Can't help but think that Pirlo is using reverse psychology there.

Absoultely not. Direct, hard working, pacy, can play out wide or up front and has scored some cruicial goals. Ask any Rangers fan about him - they love him. Proved himself in the Prem last season and was arguably the difference in them staying up with his solo performance against Liverpool. Could do alot worse though he wouldnt be a priority in my eyes. Need to build from the back ....

If Grant kept his jb till the end of the season, then Sam has no worries.
What are the odds for him not getting the tin tack I wonder?

Jamie Mackie would be a great signing, real hard worker, decent player and gets a few goals. Im not sure myself if QPR would be willing to let him go, i thought he was one of their better players last year.

Cheers CH, BOTD If you could pick up Mackie for 1 million that would be cheap. Did we not try to go in for him this time last year or was it January? I am sure the price was higher? either way in my eyes he would be a good addition to any bodies sqaud. As mentioned previously he was mainly used as an impact sub, scored a few vital goals for the hoops last season if my memory serves me well. Though I am not sure if he is the sort of player we need right now?

Mackie was excellent for QPR for their run in. He took a while to hit form but was coming back from a broken leg. We should snap him up...he could be the new Barrera.

Cheers as ever CH Mackie for £1m seems a decent deal to me. Sure, he's hardly blessed with world class technique, but he's something of a James Milner, imo, in that he gets the best out of himself by hard graft Guti, not so sure. Well, I'm sure I don't really want us to go for him He's obviously getting on a bit, and he doesn't exactly have the look of a bloke up for a relegation dogfight (hopefully it won't come to that, but, if it does....) And good luck to Freddie. Hopefully a run of games in a team where he's settled will see him find his form again
