Do you think he should be picking the money though? Its a bit different from the old days when players didn't earn that much. Should it just be a game to mark his service and give the money to charity or am I being a bit naive?

For clarity, he hasnt cos us nothing, more like £5 million a year, which could have been spent elsewhere or on a similar player - FFP and all that.

If the article had said "Sullivan out to prove that its BFS fault that Song's form dipped and is prepared to risk a load of cash and not signing another play just to prove it" it would be totally accurate.
