So this thread has turned into the pro/anti OS thread ?.

Back on topic, have been saying think Levy/Spuds could be in deep **** over the latest press, if all they have is the Dionne/Ian item.

Got to say was surprised to see BJ come out and back spuds for the RGF.

Old saying, but who has a picture of who with sheep...

Will be a interesting few weeks.

So basically, athletics isn't allowed to aspire? You can only develop on past performance? Despite that fact that, give a bit of success, it invariably packs out even now. It has been hamstrung by some pretty poor administrators int he past, combined with an (admirable) decision not to sell out to Sky, making sustainability of success impossible.

So, why should athletics not want to grow?

A bit of gentrification and a tarted up park don't paper over the woeful inadequacies of CP nor Spurs insulting attitude towards athletics.

So long as it pays its way, it can 'aspire' all it wants, mate. Its had a massive boost in terms of our obtaining The Olympics.

It can stand on its own two feet afterwards; London tax-payers have done more than their fair share for it.

I personally couldn't give a monkeys for it.

Tottenham's behaviour appears to be appalling , and the Sunday Times article makes it clear the depth of digging was extreme .

To access private documents of at least one of our employees , and in all probability the entire board of the OPLC, as well as obtaining details of when our CEO had discussions with members of the OPLC goes too far .

I am suprised given the severity of the allegations against paid agents of Tottenham , their Chairman hasn't been arrested and questioned as to the extent of his involvement in their dirt digging .

It's as serious as that .

So we went to the police and reported Spurs a few weeks ago. Why has nothing been done? This could go on for ages Headbanger

It possibly has but isn't getting jumped all over by the press due to the NOTW shambles. Have to agree though that we should be making a big song and a dance about this. By remaining quiet, are we letting them hold the aces ? Maybe we are holding our cards close to our chest awaiting this oral hearing. (we can but hope)

How much I would love it if Sp*rs got knocked back for Govt money, Levy gets charged and then Harringey council tell them that their previously submitted plans are now null and void. I don't wish for much and to be honest don't expect any of them to happen...

No official complaint has been made, the police may or may not be investigating Spurs. On the other hand we are under investigation for our 'consultancy' payments ..... would be better if Spurs get there deal, we get the OC and these investigations just fade away.

What do you mean by no official complaint has been made?

And as for West Ham being investigated, do you mean the one set up by the OPLC. The one involving independent auditors checking that the OPLC procedures were carried out properly.

Exactly what it says. west ham may have appointed lawyers but no request for an investigation or police action has yet been made.

Yes, also the police have opened an official investigation following information passed to them by the Sunday Times regarding Ian Tompkins and Dionne Knight, this is working alongside the OPLC appointed auditors and our own internal investigation.

I've had a quick google and can't find anything, maybe it's buried amongst all the other News International phone hacking stuff.

What I find odd is the London Mayor and Sports Minister have both come out and recently said that they want Spurs to drop their judicial review appeal to allow the winning bid to move forward.

You'd think they would know about any ongoing police investigation into West Ham and be silent on the subject if there were any chance of wrongdoing being found regarding the bidding.

Cannot imaine the 2 dave's and Karren Brady letting dogs lye on this one.
If they have been hacked and their bank accounts gone through etc. well they will be spitting feathers!!!

Once the OPLC inquiry into the bid and the Spuds oral hearing has taken place I feel that this is when it may all hit the fan!! :raver:

So, with Tottenham's oral hearing next week (24th), I wonder if we'll know the outcome of the OPLC's independent audit soon? Assuming it's complete and there's no trace of any wrongdoing, perhaps there'll be a press release just in time for Spuds' visit to the High Court?

It is interesting to note this current enquiry into a Justice Minister's employment of a private dick.

Sounds like he will try to justify any breaches of Data Protection on the grounds of uncovering a 'malicious' attack on his private life.
Not sure what defence the Spuds will put up if their dick went too far (so to speak)...

According to BBC Radio 5 Live this morning, the OPLC will hold a press conference today to release the findings of the Moore Stephens audit. We are in the clear, it seems.... :raver:

From: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympic ... 612877.stm

An independent investigation has upheld the decision to award West Ham the Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Games, BBC Sport has learned.

The review concluded there is no reason to re-open the bidding process.

More to follow.

Surprise surprise, the OPLC knew of a West Ham connection from the outset, just not the full extent of it. The basis of what they did know was more than sufficient to ensure complete compartmentalisation of information. Same conclusion from the independent silk commissioned by the club. The whole story amounted to no more than straw grasping by the filth who have their day in court on 24th which is Wednesday, the liklihood is that it will be all over come Thursday....

I didn't think it possible that Spurs could actually go down in my estimation but they've managed it - What a festering ****hole of a club they are. Hopefully not only will not getting the stadium cost them millions but their underhand connivery will make politicians wary of dealing with them such that they have no chance whatever of getting their grubby hands on public money toward a new stadium. :thdn:

Spurs still have their oral hearing at the High Court on Wednesday, don't they?
