Standing areas at The Olympic Stadium

Re: Standing areas at The Olympic Stadium
Until they get permission to use their safe standing section as a standing section, this doesn't change anything. They'll merely be required to use them as seats. I seem to remember, though, that someone posted earlier in this thread that the football authorities in this country don't currently recognise safe standing as seats when they're in "seat mode." I could be wrong on that one.
Re: Standing areas at The Olympic Stadium
The SGSA (Sports Ground Safety Authority) won't yet accept that rail seats are seats - that a seat that flips up/down is a seat. The same as most other seats in current grounds but with a rail in front to make standing safer.
They say that they are 'evidence led' but fail to provide evidence that standing is unsafe.
It is not about the facts. The arguments in favour of safe standing are overwhelming. It is a determination to keep all seating for other reasons - politically it's Hillsborough & football it's wanting the new breed of face painted 'fan of the month' types.

The police continue to discriminate against whom they perceive to be troublemakers - working class males in the 18-30 range .
Many clubs in the Premier League go along with them by pricing that demographic out of the game .This is a clear policy .It's not a coincidence .
Both get backed up by the ongoing Hilsborough campaign , what , I wonder, would Liverpool fans do if they were drawn away in the cup at , say , Yeovil if they were in Division 3 ? Would they boycott ?
The Football League clubs were sold down the river with the very first TV deal under Sky .The best way for them to fight back is to differentiate their offer and actively push for these rail seats , in other words make it so fans want their clubs to be in the Football League .
Only then will the PL show any real interest in safe standing .
