No, it's because I agreed with the original poster who said to use his words 'I'm not going to watch any of it', well neither am I....

Re: The Paralympics
You ain't watched none of it Been great best thing to happen in this country for ages, keeps all the crap off the front pages and news. Get behind your nation, go GB ! Watch you watching instead ?
Re: The Paralympics
Well that bit probably needs clarifying Pop - When Lady Ironworx is abroad working, as she has been for the passed three weeks, I don't turn the telly on at all, just music and internet.... So it's not just the Olympics that I haven't watched, I haven't watched anything at all.... But to qualify that I never watch the Olympics or take any interest in them beyond the medal table.

All I can say is that you should buy the Olympic DVD, or maybe look at the highlights on iplayer and you will probably think, damn can't believe I missed that. I for one am sad it's over, makes football look fairly ordinary.
Re: The ParalympicsCan I ask why you take notice of the medals table then Iron?
Kind of like looking at the league table without watching any games?
Re: The Paralympics
Yes of course you can I don't really find any of the Olympic events interesting, the test I use is would I watch any of them at any other time and the answer is a definite no. I doubt most people would buy tickets for canoe slalom, diving, javelin, basketball, whatever it is that they bought tickets for at any other time, so I don't think I'm too unusual in that. Where I'm different is that I don't watch them in the Olympics either, they're still exactly the same uninteresting things to me whether in the Olympics or not. However, I like to see GB doing well in whatever it is even if it's something dreadful like the walking race - Did they have that ? So therefore I glance at the medal table when passing through the online news.
Re: The ParalympicsShame on you iron-worx for not getting on the teamGB band wagon!
I don't like particularly like tennis but tend to watch Wimbledon, I think snooker and golf can be boring sports to watch but I will get involved watching the finals. These Olympics have given everyone a lift and you have missed out... I guess you haven't got post Olympic blues though which is one good thing!
Re: The Paralympics
What I do think is good about the Olympics is that all of the competitors do have a real talent in whatever it is that they do, and they have had to work hard at it, none of them get anything for nothing or any free rides. Indeed most of them work bloody hard to literally be alsorans.... It's the complete opposite of celebrity and WAG culture where frequently there's barely any talent at all and things simply fall into laps.
Re: The Paralympics
I'm there that night. I'll keep an eye out for the guy furiously ripping up betting slips.
Re: The Paralympics
Whilst Iron-worx may be spending his time furiously ****ing himself rigid during his good lady's absence, the rest of you may be interested to know there is a proper Paralympics thread here: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=142516
