Now that we're the preferred bidder (again), how about our owners put us into the picture regarding just what the plans are for converting the stadium into something that might vaguely resemble a football ground.
Previously we were told that this info could not be released because of some bull**** confidentiality agreement. We, the real stakeholders in the club, deserve to be told before the deal is done.

From the Statement
"I guarantee they will not be disappointed when our full vision for a Stadium that is world-class in terms of supporter experience, sightlines and facilities is revealed. We will seek to share full details as soon as we are able to do so.

The conversion to a football stadium probably hasn't been properly designed yet.

WH15. That's why I started this thread. They're still telling us nothing, just big promises that everything will be mind blowing. I can't help feeling that we'll be in for a dissapointment.

How about just waiting for them to show us the possible designs before either getting excited or disappointed?

Yeah, it would have been very productive and helpful of our owners to break a legally binding confidentiality agreement that we have with the government/owners of the stadium.Any Old Iron wrote:.

We will find out the details as the process now develops. In fact both parties will want to get as much information out as possible because it will help to keep supporters of the club on side and it will keep the general tax paying public on side too.
It's in everyone's interests that as much information is known as possible.

The relevant parties haven't actually agreed on who's paying what, so the actual details of the conversion aren't there yet. I think we're just going to have to wait until it is all agreed.

Did I hear correctly on the radio the other day that we have agreed to accommodate athletics? Including some big meeting in 2017. If so this must surely mean the running track staying is part of the deal which will totally f*** people's view of the pitch?? Anyone got anything to add to this worrying news.

Thats why they are having retractable seating, to cover the track.
Re: So, G&S, what are these exciting stadium plans of yours?
well we're hoping for retractable seating but unless the club pays for it, it probably won't happen. The first thing to happen is to make sure the corporate boxes are sorted, fans view will come last.
Re: So, G&S, what are these exciting stadium plans of yours?
Have you been paying attention at all? The club will be contributing to the retractable seating - it's not their sole responsibility as tenants.adie wrote:well we're hoping for retractable seating but unless the club pays for it, it probably won't happen. I imagine the club's plans as submitted with its bid are in the bin. The LLDC decided to go with a rebuild of the lower tier and I doubt detailed plans are anywhere near finalised although they must have conducted a survey or two in order to get to the £160-200 million estimate.

Karen is currently looking for the back of the fag packet with the precious details of the world class football stadium.
Godot only knows what the roof and retractable seating will cost when the relevant professionals get down to designing and costing them. If that ever happens?

G S and B all have the attitude that " build it and they will come".
We're not talking about 4-5,000 extra seats to fill when/if we move, its 25,000!
How cheap will the tickets have to be to fill the ground once the novelty wears off?
