scum of the earth tried to buy the boleyn ground
Before agreeing the sale of Upton Park to the Galliard Group, West Ham United had an interesting counter-offer. Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy was very keen on purchasing the ground for the 2016-17 season, when West Ham relocate to the Olympic Stadium.
It appears Tottenham’s move to their new ground from White Hart Lane may not unfold as smoothly as hoped. There are still compulsory purchase issues causing delays and fears temporary accommodation may be required, for a season at least.
Levy believes Wembley is too costly and problematic to fill, and the notion of ground-sharing the Emirates Stadium would probably cause a riot.
Buying the Boleyn Ground, getting the necessary use from it, and then selling it on, seemed an ideal solution. With one problem: West Ham said no, and then sold elsewhere.
Tottenham’s difficulties extend beyond the calls to be made on the manager, team and structure.

This smells like more rubbish propaganda from the club to me.
"Thank God we sold to these lovely property developers and not horrid, nasty Tottenham"
Much the same as "we've GOT to get the OS otherwise horrid, nasty Tottenham will get it and we'll be doomed"

Possibly but it was originally in the Daily Mail, then many other newspapers and the television media and the Spuds have not yet denied it, lets see if they do.......Denbighammer wrote:This smells like more rubbish propaganda from the club to me.

Yep, Wembley, Milton Keynes etc...
I'd rather play in Milton Keynes than an athletics stadium!

Re: scum of the earth tried to buy the boleyn ground
Can't put up a link from here, but there's speculation that Spurs might seek to use the OS in 2016/7!
This is after a rebuffed attempt to buy/rent the Boleyn, Hearn's attempts to ground share and Her Ladyship's comments to the HoL about being willing to share.
Orient lost for reasons of financially viability, not in principle. Spurs are certainly viable.
I'm wondering where this is going....

Imagine how Karen would feel about sharing the OS with Tottenham after all in the first season there.
Particularly if the fixture list came out and they were first to play at the OS and her team's first game there was a mid-week game v Hull.
And Tottenham would probably get bigger crowds with there 47,000 season ticket waiting lists (not that Karen understands what that means)

Don't worry, it won't happen, Karren assured us that exclusive use during the football season was one of the non negotiable conditions of moving the the OS, and we all know the Karren is 100% trustworthy and always tells the truthDoc H Ball wrote:Can't put up a link from here, but there's speculation that Spurs might seek to use the OS in 2016/7!

(even if she did let it slip to the House of Lords that we are willing to groundshare).

You're supposed to be at home
Probably cut our away allocation too for that and shove us up in the gods.
