claret seats are flawed...something to do with the pigments of red paint. Often see red cars that have turned pink. Look at our own stadium and tou will see what I mean.

David Gold on twitter: "The design has not yet been finalised but the seats in the new stadium will be predominantly claret and blue. dg"

If the club are trying to follow the Arsenal/Emirates model then it would make sense to change all of the seats to padded to keep up with our future competitors.

It just seems typically West Ham and typically G&S when they come out with comments like "We'd rather spend the £5 million on players".

It looks to me that they've added a couple of columns of white seats to the executive area

So now people are moaning about the colour of the seats, whether they are padded or not, and the shadow cast by the roof?

Come back pinky, all is forgiven....

To be fair Gavrosh I don't see anyone complaining about it just people mentioning it.

Indeed. To the many thousands who currently stand at the Boleyn any padding on the seats will be superfluous as we don't intend to sit on them.

Exactly brownout what with Celtic FC confirming that they will be introducing safe standing rail seating to Parkhead it's time for English clubs to follow suit and lobby for a change in legislation in this country!

BOYS1991 fully intend to stand throughout next season at the Boleyn Ground and at the Olympic Stadium and our major concern is that our standing continues to be tolerated post stadium move and in which part of the new ground fellow supporters are most likely to stand!

The club aren't going to help so fans need to get together to organise where those who want to stand will select our seats. Isolated standing will be stopped and probably rightly so if it blocks view of others, but as history has shown, if a large group area stands they can't stop it even if they try.

those wishing to stand are in for a shock,
the club will crack down on standing and believe it will be easier to do that at the OS. this was mentioned at SAB meeting on monday
one thing for those that stand to consider. what if at the 1st game you find behind you is a young kid or old person, you still gonna block their view?

No offence but West Ham fans haven't got the organisation or activeness to do anything about the atmosphere.

People expect to turn up and have a better atmosphere due to the roof and acoustics, yet won't think of the various other reasons beyond that, mainly the location of the bands.

Delusional...

so did any members of the SAB raise the fact that a large percentage of the Boleyn support chooses to stand every week and has done without incident for the most part of the last two decades?

the point raised about blocking the view of a younger person or someone who is unable or has no desire to stand is exactly why those of us who wish to stand are campaigning for the introduction of CHOICE, 99% of supporters who enter the lower South Bank or the western corner of the North Bank at the Boleyn week in and week out understand that the support there will be standing up for 90 minutes, only the handful of tourist fans may not realise prior to the game that this will be the case.

the only possible solution I can see is for the club to explore and introduce a 'singing section' this area would be recognised as accommodating the more vocal of the clubs supporters and these are the supporters who are most likely to want to stand. I understand that the club has tiptoed around the idea of a 'singing section' but due to the massively negative response the idea received following Baby Sullivan's suggestion on twitter they quickly shelved the idea.

brownout shares the worries of the BOYS1991 supporters group that this stadium move could further dilute our already dwindling match day atmosphere and our fear is that in general our support is nonchalantly walking into something that they will not like once they get there, brownout is right that supporters need to organise to work out where is best for us to station ourselves to stand and sing but how do we do that? especially as the club are yet to reveal where band 4 season ticket holders are to be placed! are West Ham supporters too lazy to organise? this forum has to be the best medium in which to attempt to organise our fan base and ensure like minded supporters remain grouped together!

Exactly right. The majority of our fans are far too 'anti-ultra' to do anything remotely organised. Whilst this might work away from home where everyone stands and its almost an unwritten rule, at home in a new stadium this will simply not happen.
