What will Happen to the Boleyn?
The pub I mean.
When we depart for the big bowl what will become of the best known West Ham boozer?
Can it sustain itself on the normal weekly trade? I think that it is safe to presume that a lot of the local businesses, like Nathans, will struggle after the move.

Such a lovely looking building, and one, I hope does not turn into flats, or another kuntucky halal fried turkey. If those new developments on the ground bring in the new age yuppies, I hope it stays as a pub or a nice restaurant at least.

The council can list it as an Asset of Community Value, which would afford it extra protection against redevelopment.

The Boleyn is a great old building, I'm glad it is protected, although that is just the building not the pub.
I bet it makes a fortune on match days, I have no idea what it is like at any other time.

I thought it might, I don't suppose the area is big on Pie N Mash these days, Another bit of East end heritage gone.cockney hammer wrote:nathans is sadly closing when we leave

Shockingly depressing on a Wednesday afternoon when I went to get tickets a few years ago.Coops wrote:The Boleyn is a great old building, I'm glad it is protected, although that is just the building not the pub.

It was empty except from some poor old boys pretending they were still young and wasting their dole money.

Stayed in the hotel a few years back. The boys were playing away at Ipswich so could'nt resist a little visit to see what it was like dark o'clock non-match days.It was around midnight,it was loud and rammed with eastern europeans so on that evidence,it may just be fine.I did'nt stay long

I walk past it nightly and there's rarely a sole in there. If I drink locally then it's The White Horse, The Hammers or The Denmark. They're all chugging along nicely so chances are The Boleyn doesn't cater for much more than a match day crowd. The Central is exactly the same.
