Egg Chasing at the OS
I know this wont interest many on here but I thought I would pass it on for those that might be thinking of going.
Samoa are playing the Barbarians at the OS just before the Rugby World Cup and tickets go on general sale Friday morning, but I have been given a link to a 2 for1 pre-sale today http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/350 ... =uk15rwc29
just in case anyone wants a chance to visit the stadium and see how things are shaping up. Although the match is Saturday 29th August so you might have other sporting priorities that day.

Re: Egg Chasing at the OS
Is that the official name for it?
I suppose it is better than it being named the Sega Stadium or the Diet Coke Arena or some such.
But it is a bit of a **** name "West Ham United, and you're invited, To The Stadium, to have a row...", no it just doesn't work.
If I were in charge I would name it I would name it something like Irons Park.

I reckon the rights will be sold off at some point.
The EE Arena or Pepsi Stadium or something like that.

I assume it's because they can no longer use the word 'Olympic' when referring to it so they've just dropped that word from the name. Means that we'll have to change the title of this forum though!

That's what I thought too - and then remembered that there is a Stadio Olimpico in Rome so maybe there are other reasons.Wembley1966 wrote:I assume it's because they can no longer use the word 'Olympic' when referring to it so they've just dropped that word from the name. If it were to be called " The Heroes arena " to sums up the nations idea of it is a stadium where heroes were made ie Mo farrah etc and it has a certain ring to it, and to me it conjures up a vision of gladitorial sport, how would a billing of "tonight at the heroes arena West Ham Utd vs Manure" sound to you

Rugby League this time after the Rugby World Cup - November 7 - England vs New Zealand
http://www.englandrl.co.uk/engvnz_tickets
Presumably there's not going to be a lot of work being done from August until this event.

Re: Egg Chasing at the OS
Will definitely get tickets for this - I watch Rugby League on a pretty regular basis ( London Broncos and internationals) and it would be good to get a sneak look at the OS before we move in. Have seen athletics there but would be nice to see a game at the OS without the running track before we move in. If the Rugby League World Cup was anything to go by the ticket prices ( if you get in early) won't be extortionate, unlike the Kick and Clap Toffs Union World Cup and none of that ballot nonsense.Wembley1966 wrote:Rugby League this time after the Rugby World Cup - November 7 - England vs New Zealand

If the Hammers aren't playing that day why not give it a go? The England V NZ WC semi final in 2013 was an absolute classic!

If the England v NZ game at the OS is only half as good as this it should be worth going!

Re: Egg Chasing at the OS
The seating plan for the RL is on the Skyscraper forum and clearly shows the running track in place. The plan has always been to install the retractable seating after the summer/autumn events
