Re: July Athletics 2015
Judging by the state of the running track they better hope its a lot of cross country in there
Re: July Athletics 2015
Possibly worth stumping up a tenner and going on the Sunday just to suss how far back from the pitch the top tier seats really are though?

Got tickets in the upper tier in one of the ends - will be interesting to see what the view is like.
I'd pre-registered with British Athletics so got a booking slot yesterday.

Why not try out the hospitality - you can get a box for £4,750 (+ VAT):
An Executive Box offers the ultimate way to enjoy the event, with ample room for 10 guests to experience the very best hospitality experience the Stadium has to offer. With a private balcony which offers superb views of the action, a three course meal and a complimentary bar, if you and your guests want to be treated like royalty, then this package is for you.

Tickets went general sale today, got a few upper tier on the side...
i do like athletics, but im more going because i am interested in the stadium. Plus taking the parentals so it will be the first thing in a stadium that they will both enjoy.

Re: July Athletics 2015
Hi. I have tickets for the athletics - will be interesting to see what it looks like. Not a WHU fan by the way (actually Leicester City), but been browsing this forum for a while, particularly in relation to the stadium move.
We have always struggled to generate a good atmosphere in our new stadium, compared with the close-to-the-action, ramshackle Filbert Street, not to mention the terrible catering and badly designed toilet blocks at the Walkers/King Power.
It's ok when the team is playing well, but otherwise is as quiet as a grave, Those of you who have been will probably have noted the bad acoustics. When we originally moved their they herded the core LCFC support to the "Kop" (opposite the corner where visiting supporters sit). The acoustics are so bad that if you sit in the kop, you can see the away fans are singing, clapping something, but you just can't hear them very well and I guess the same goes for the other way around. So over the course of time, some of our more "vocal" fans have gravitated towards the away fans in a section which now has the most expensive season tickets in the stadium.

Tickets start at £10 via ticketmaster, worth it to check out the cheap seat views, and to judge whether you would would like to upgrade your season ticket.

Re: July Athletics 2015
Sunday is the Paralympic day. The Diamond League meeting is on the Friday and Saturday.
Re: July Athletics 2015
The week before is the great Newham run, for which I have tickets for , around the Olympic park and finishing in the stadium, judging by the latest camera pictures they really need to get a move on.
Quite a few events on this summer with great chances for fans to go in and have a look.

Received tickets Friday for entry into the stadium for the great Newham run on sun 19/7 so can only assume works must be running to schedule.

Re: July Athletics 2015
I find the emails regarding the athletics a bit worrying. The organisers are unable to release tickets due to not having confirmation of the configuration of the stadium in not so many words.
This despite being sold them via ticketmaster with a seating plan. Not long to the actual event now.

We just bought a couple of tickets for the Sunday, right near the 100m start in the lower tier.

Not quite sure how they are going to get it all ready in time in just over a week. Certainly cutting it fine. Is it being televised?
