I find Whyte really likeable but that is shocking opposition to make a good impression on US tv

Re: Boxing thread
Agree. Whyte seems very "gung-ho" to me and seems to lack any ringcraft and boxing nous whatsoever. He will always be in exciting fights, will probably knock a couple of big names out, but he will always be found wanting at the highest level. Can see him being comfortably out pointed by Parker/Fury/Wilder, even Bellew.
Re: Boxing thread
I like Whyte. He isn't the best to watch at times and is very raw. Have seen videos of him kickboxing, just seems like a guy that wants to fight. His wild swings in fights show that. I like him in interviews, he isn't a manufactured Hearn/Matchroom/Sky fighter
Whyte would struggle against Wilder, Joshua (again) and certainly Fury who is the best of the bunch
I think he would beat both Bellew and Parker

Come back, beat two nobodies, lose to a cruiserweight and then get a World title shot, that's just f**ked up.

Re: Boxing thread
After watching Whyte against an out of shape Lewison and an unfit Allen, and fail to knock either out, I decided that he'll never go much higher than a decent enough domestic level fighter. The Chisora fight only backed up what I thought. I like him though, he makes me laugh and he's a pretty honest bloke.

Wlad has retired. Unless Fury returns I cannot see anyone testing AJ for a long long time.

The correct decision, you cannot beat father time, he was an amazing fighter and If he was ten years younger he would have beaten AJ in that first fight. ( imo )twixy wrote:Wlad has retired. Unless Fury returns I cannot see anyone testing AJ for a long long time.

Re: Boxing thread
Fantastic boxer and one of the greatest, regardless of whether you like him or not you can't argue that was quite simply brilliant. I think he comes across as a decent enough bloke too, although I do think he had things tailored for him to a certain extent once he was a dominant champion, Team Fury highlighted that.
AJ vs Ortiz? Both are with Hearn, Ortiz has a reputation as a hard hitter but I think he's slow as f**k and AJ could batter him, which I'd like to see. I say that purely because I think Wilder is dodging both of them for now.

Top career. Will deservedly go down as a hall of famer, what he did was no mean feat to not be beaten for that long. Glad to see he has gone out now, I could only see the rematch with Joshua being an even bigger and quicker knockout.
Pretty much guaranteed that Joshua will face Pulev next. He'll go through him then I'd like to see him against the winner of Fury v Parker for another world title. Then you're looking at a unification with Wilder. He wins that too, just in time for a Tyson Fury comeback where they meet in the biggest British fight of all time. I imagine Hearn is looking at something similar to that route although there will be many obstacles in the way (mandatories, injuries etc.)

Anthony Joshua has been ordered by the WBA to fight mandatory challenger Luis Ortiz.
