Also Sangakarra is on a different planet to anyone else in the CC

Averaging just the mere 124 over 13 innings just a shame his last FC game is next week, though it is in Manchester so may well take half a day to watch, if I can find enough thermals

Essex beat Hampshire by over 100 runs after being bowled out for 76 on the 1st day (Hampshire were also bowled out for 76 in the 4th innings) . Just the Yorkies to put in their place for an unbeaten season.

Porter and Harmer have been immense this season, over 60 wickets each, miles clear of any other bowler in the division.

Nice to see Little Chef get 5 for the first time in the second innings as well.

Unbelievable season!

When Essex were forced to follow on 178 runs behind, the two pundits on the radio the other night (don't recall their names) said that if Essex were to somehow win this game it would go down as one of the most remarkable victories in the history of county cricket. But that the chances of them actually winning were less than Zero. :D

What a stunning win, and by over 100 runs to boot.

Essex aim this year was to simply stay up in Division 1 and build from there. Amazingly not only have they have won the County Championship, but how easily and impressively they have done so.

9 Win, 4 Draws and 0 defeats. WOW!!

I follow three team sports, I have now seen two of them win the big one, now just need West Ham to complete the treble by winning something, The League Cup will do me.

England 74-3 on a pitch that is doing something at Bristol. Morgan fails again (1st ball duck). Seems a long time since he has scored consistently in ODIs.

Sky just said he has reached double figures (10) once in his last 9 innings. We can do better I feel.

And yet another 50 for Joe, he is playing a different game most of the time. Just needs to turn them into more 100's to be great.

Morgan goes through periods where he stinks followed by periods where he scores them by the bucketload. Quality knock from Moeen, some ridiculously good hitting.

Along with Stokes, Root and Bairstow, we have possibly the most talented and exciting middle order in Test and ODI's history EVER.

Bold statement, but even the Windies of the 70s/80s and the Aussies of the 90s/00's didnt have a middle order of this greatness IMO.

It is some middle order. Problem is that they are coming in when it's about 30/3 most of the time.

That knock from Ali was just brutal.

I'd consider letting Bairstow open for the 5 day games down under.Any team we pick can't afford to ignore Butler.Whatever his form, along with Stokes,he is ,on his day,one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket.

Was lucky enough to be there and see Ali's show and then Chris Gayle, would have liked to have seen Gayle get his ton and make the game a little closer, but what a day for entertainment :scarfer:

Just watching Ali go for it, was a thing of beauty in a destructive way!!

Team-mate Alex Hales, who was with Stokes, will also miss the match and has returned to Bristol to help police with their inquiries.
I'm going tomorrow, and two of our star players now not playing :x

Essex leaving themselves in great shape to go the season unbeaten. Don't know the last team to do that.

134-2 in their 2nd Innings, a nice Solid lead of 250 runs. Their Bowlers again doing a fantastic job. Bowled Yorkshire out for just 111.
