Re: England Cricket Thread 2018
I was thinking about Ali from the last test and why he wasn't playing, I really rate the guy, I know he was a little out of form in domestic but he is player I would pick for the test side, he is a great all rounder.
Re: England Cricket Thread 2018
That was the most spectacular hitting display I have ever seen. Congrats to England, and the huge turnaround they have successfully carried out with the T20 and ODI sides

Still massively out of form with the bat unfortunately. I think we may see him again in the test side before the summer is out though.Clacton-ammer wrote:I was thinking about Ali from the last test and why he wasn't playing, I really rate the guy, I know he was a little out of form in domestic but he is player I would pick for the test side, he is a great all rounder.

Convicts having a go today, 135/1 off 26. They don't want to be whitewashed clearly.

4 down now, making a bit of a mess of this. I does look harder to bat on (as predicted)Hammers Dad wrote:Two quick wickets (174-1, 183-2)

Re: England Cricket Thread 2018
comfortable in the end, Buttler takes England home with over 5 overs to spare.
4-0 - lets make in five on Sunday at Old Trafford. No changes, best team, rub their faces in it (they would do the same, and have many times)

Didn’t see the game due to watching Argentina implode. Odd to see Hales came in at 174/1 yet was unbeaten on only 34 when the target of 314 was reached.

Batting got harder as the day went on, a lot of 1 and 2's from England until Buttler kicked-off, nice sensible innings from Hales.Hemel Iron wrote:Odd to see Hales came in at 174/1 yet was unbeaten on only 34 when the target of 314 was reached.

Aussies win the toss again (won all 5) and bat, slightly disappointing we've rotated our bowlers, hopefully they can step up. Jake Ball is the luckiest man alive, stealing a living as an international bowler.

Re: England Cricket Thread 2018
If that was the case they are making a dogs dinner of that 99-4 off 13 (going quickly but losing wickets at regular intervals.) Ali bowling very nicely.Odessa wrote:it's almost as if we want the Aussies to score heavy just to see if we can reach a massive target score.
