Re: Boxing thread
I think it would have done alright then Sky and Matchroom put Chisora-Whyte 2 on the same card and blew it out of the water.
Hopefully both PPVs fail and the PPV model ceases to exist

Re: Boxing thread
I always, always stream, got to be done.
I hate Warrington, he's a little prick that beat a drained and mentally not right Lee Selby with the aid of two nasty cuts sustained early on that severely hampered Selbys vision, I hope Frampton schools him.

Re: Boxing thread
Coming up in the early hours of Sunday morning at Madison Square Garden : Rocky Fielding vs Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez for the WBA super middleweight title. Not sure about the undercard though some might be interested in Katie Taylor vs Eva Wahlstrom for the IBF and WBA female world lightweight titles.
The David Lemieux fight on the same bill is off after a bad weight cut put him in hospital.

Re: Boxing thread
Lemieux has got to either seriously knuckle down or go up to 168. He's not a lean Middleweight and always struggles these days when it comes to making weight.

Re: Boxing thread
Really disappointed with Rocky Fielding, a fight like that at this point in his career and, for me, he was too naive and left himself way to open to getting hit in the body. Weird how the British public have been saying well done for having a go when he's gone in there weighing the same and having a height and reach advantage over Alvarez yet when Khan went in about two stone lighter than a Clen using Alvarez and outboxed him for six rounds up until the KO he was laughed at and labelled a glass jaw.
Re: Boxing thread
He stood no chance, absolute levels, Canelo could've took two years off, gone to Mcdonalds every day and had five beers and still won. Utterly pointless fight and just shows how stupid it is Fielding was a "world champion". Got to be one of the easiest pay days of Canelo's career.

It was embarrassing. I didn't expect him to win but he shouldn't be getting bashed up like that with that size advantage. Didn't use his jab, no head or foot movement....they must have known Canelo would attack the body and his conditioning around the abs/obliques was like a 12 year old boy. What's he been doing in the gym?
I hate to criticise any boxer like this but he was proper ****....

Re: Boxing thread
A strange strategy from Fielding albeit Canelo is a class or two above. Katie Taylor dominated in her fight though I find it difficult to assess the quality of her opposition.

Re: Boxing thread
Interesting to see how Charlie Edwards gets on on Saturday, hard to predict as he's not been in many tough fights and this lad can hit hard, Andrew Selby is the best man in that division though and that belt will be his soon, far too good for those two fighting on Saturdays.
Re: Boxing thread
Needs to prove it though, he had a chance against Warrington and blew it.Jumby wrote: Andrew Selby is the best man in that division though and that belt will be his soon, far too good for those two fighting on Saturdays.

I'm really looking forward to Warrington v Frampton tomorrow
Re: Boxing thread
EVerybody expected Selby to totally outclassed Warrington including me, he didn't just get the shock win he won utterly convincingly. Should be an interesting match up with Frampton, logic says Frampton out points him and out boxes him but Warrington has a bundle of energy and must be a nightmare to face,

Rosales v Edwards the pick of them for me. Big opportunity for Edwards to show what he’s about.
