2.10 Wolverhampton - King Crimson, down to a very workable mark in a low class race and had a great run last time out after a 10 month layoff, dropped 1lb since. Adam Kirby on board who is a top jockey and stands out in such a low class affair.

Re: Official Betting Thread
Sometimes a bet is worth placing just because of the odds.
Sebastian Vettel is 7/2 to win in Australia.
The conclusion is that Mercedes were the best car in testing. That may have been true and they claim to have improved their title winning car, but in my book 7/2 is too big because
1) Ferrari put in the fastest lap in testing
2) The same happened last season and Vettel won in Australia.

Bendy (I was going to go with Bender but I thought that would be seen as unpleasant) - he's 7/1 on the Betfair exchange right now.

The flat season kicks off with the Lincoln meeting today. Gabrial looks well overpriced at 25/1... take him EW, some online bookies will no doubt be paying 5 places, Skybet are paying 6 places - great value.

Yeah, obviously as you said he drifted out to 6s at least with most bookies after last practice and quali so would have been lovely if I'd waited longer, but once you get beyond 3/1 for hamilton's biggest likely rival it just becomes an auto bet for me.EvilC wrote:The thread is on fire at the moment, Vettel sneaks home!

Re: Official Betting Thread
Outlander in the Irish Grand National [5:00 Fairyhouse] must be worth an EW punt at a huge 40/1.
He's this price because he's top weight, however the reason he's top weight is he is sheer class. Never even raced in a handicap before, it's all grade 1 and 2 races if you look at what he's raced in.
They've put a 7lb claimer on board which helps with the weight issue and I honestly don't see why they'd bother running him in a testing race like this if connections didn't think he had a chance.

I had Folsum Blue e/w but he'd have won it if he wasnt nearly taken out by another horse at the last. He then stayed on. If only there was another 100 yards

Not that I'm pulling at trees over the last few weeks but got three strong fancies today at Lingfield
3.55 Just that Lord
4.30 Berkshire Boy
5.05 Zamjar
Singles, doubles and a treble.
Don't lump on, as I said I'm not firing in the winners at present.

Cheers Bend it, I went pretty low stakes on a treble and protected it with a patent, so at least got a bit back from that, pretty much doubled my money in fact.

Re: Official Betting Thread
Glad you all got on.
Berkshire was sluggish at the start and got behind, last couple of furlongs looked fastest finisher. Worth keeping an eye on for next time, maybe up at a mile.

Re: Official Betting Thread
Arsenal win
Man Utd win with -1 handicap
Arsenal have won their last 10 games against Newcastle. Should be buoyed after progressing in the Europa League. Newcastle may well have one eye on the beach after a good run of late and pretty much being safe. They could ease off tomorrow in order to concentrate on their remaining fixtures.
Man U have won 5 straight in the league and will see tomorrow as a good chance to tighten their hold on 2nd in the table.
Double pays 5/2 on Skybet.
Add in Arsenal -1 handicap too if you're feeling lucky
