Re: Official Betting Thread
I am on one of the worst runs ever at present. I'm not a high stakes punter, so it is not out of control, but I am starting to think about a brief pause. Usually I carry on through but just not stopping at present.
Last Sat bet on 6 races, 4 second places no win
This sat bet on 7 races, 3 second places no win.
It's been like that midweek as well for over a month.
The real beauty was my only football bet yesterday.
Bristol City & Rotherham double.
Bristol City were 3 - 0 up in the 69th minute. Scored 2 own goals including one in the 92nd min to only draw 3 - 3 and wreck my double. I mean WTF?

Re: Official Betting Thread
Morning Gents,
After a bit of advice, downloaded that Kwiff app for a bit of a laugh, and last night staked £2.50 on the three Scottish Premiership games at 1500 to be over 2.5 goals. Original odds were 10/1, however I was "Kwiffed" (oo er) and it went to 201/1. So instead of £25 back, looking at £500.
What is the best way to cover this bet? A couple of singles on under 2.5 goals in each game? Or something else?

Re: Official Betting Thread
I think Black Corton could be great EW value in the RSA Chase [2.10] tomorrow, assuming 2 key factors:
- Price remains 7/1 at the shortest
- Race doesn't drop to 7 runners or less [extremely unlikely]
Presenting Percy obviously looks the biggest threat having steamed up the hill last year in the Pertemps and running well since. The other two horses shorter than Black Corton are Al Boum Photo and Monalee. Both of these have limited chasing experience and have each had 1 fall. Cheltenham in this ground is a stiff test and no guarantee they'll both get around without falling or errors.
Black Corton has excellent form figures, goes on soft ground, has plenty of chase experience, has never not completed a race. His last win was an easy one against Ms Parfois so that form was fra.nked rather well today. Finally, it is a Paul Nicholls horse so hasn't had a long way to travel to Cheltenham either... just think 3 places in a 10 horse race at 7/1 is a little overpriced.

Re: Official Betting Thread
I live 2 miles from Philip Reynolds who is the son of former irish Taoiseach ( prime minister ).
I was chatting to his chauffeur this morning and he tells me that Mall Dini in the Cheltenham 5.30 is his best chance of having a festival winner.
His other horse and 2nd best chance was Presenting Percy that won by 7l yesterday.
The chauffeur has lumped on and ive just lumped on.
Being cheltenham , every horse is trying so dont shoot me if it dosent win.
5/1 with paddypower

People may laugh at me but I think DJAKADAM is absolutely HUGE at 33/1 in the Gold Cup.
Sidenote - it's a shame this thread seems so dead now. Result of The Snug/The Sports Bar splitting?

Looked like he was gonna take it but the winner kept finding. Certainly got a run for your money.djbubbles wrote:I live 2 miles from Philip Reynolds who is the son of former irish Taoiseach ( prime minister ).

He did run a cracker. He cruised around. I just cant believe how the winner kept finding. Was a brilliant race and despite losing, i was happy with Mall Dini

Re: Official Betting Thread
Kildisart in the 2.40 Kempton, lightly raced, has good form lines, good record other than his last race where he made a jumping mistake and is priced at a hefty 13/2 ... get on

Funnily enough I've just picked him out at the bookies as my biggest bet of the day without reading this.r99c wrote:Kildisart in the 2.40 Kempton, lightly raced, has good form lines, good record other than his last race where he made a jumping mistake and is priced at a hefty 13/2 ... get on
I'd agree he is worth a few quid.
