Re: Cheltenham 2016 (Long running competition)
FINAL STANDINGS
Congratulations to Sharphammer, our 2018 Cheltenham Champion! Always prominent but sweeping up the finishing straight on Friday with an 11/1 winner to take the crown.
If people are up for it, I wouldn't mind doing this again for the Aintree Grand National Meeting next month. I think it would be fun if we made it a monetised comp, say everyone chucked in a fiver and winner takes all, if that would be allowed and we could sort out an escrow or you all have enough faith in me ]if allowed of course!]. Let me know if you'd be up for doing this for the Aintree meeting anyway!

Well played Sharphammer, that was some picking today getting over 30 points, well deserved win. My best ever finish in this comp as I'm usually rubbish just like today. Big thanks to r99c for organising and doing all the scores each day, top work. Hope all had a few winners and picked up a few quid at the bookies,

Thanks fellas, enjoyed that... I'm a regular fixture at Cheltenham but couldn't make it this year, this kept me well entertained. Looking forward to next year!
Have no idea how I pulled that winner out the bag today, was an awful days betting. Unlucky stringey A lucky victory at the death for me.
Thanks for this r99c. I stumbled on the thread a bit luckily but glad I found it.

Re: Cheltenham 2016 (Long running competition)
Congratulations Sharphammer on taking the crown from my grasp. I thought I had a good chance of a successful defence but a paltry 3 points today put an end to that. After 3 good days for the punters the bookies got their wedge back today, as they invariably do.
Thanks for running this r99c.

Nice one Sharphammer
Cheers for organising it r66c, top man.
If only I hadn't missed day one, happy with 10th though.

Well done Sharphammer, after two disastrous last days I'm more than happy with 4th!
Cheers r99c for running, and always up for a comp, especially around the Grand National

Any chance of setting this up? Not bothered about monetising it though.r99c wrote:If people are up for it, I wouldn't mind doing this again for the Aintree Grand National Meeting next month. Brain Power is one to load up on tomorrow, what a weak race.

Sorry guys, been very busy recently and forgot all about this.
Obviously hindsight is a wonderful thing but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Might Bite was only 4/5 and touched evens before. After his mighty Gold Cup performance, I was expecting something like 8/13 or 8/11 against that field.

2 month countdown and I will be running this again, hope you've all been saving up
Anyone up for monetizing this year's contest? I feel like it wouldn't be difficult for everyone who would like to play for money to throw in a tenner, winner takes all or decide on prizes... spreadsheet would indicate who is playing for money by putting names in a different colour or something and then still have the free competition for everyone else.
