Cracking fight, McGregor got his tactics spot on, Diaz is just an absolute animal. No doubt there will be a third, there's far too much money to be made for them not to put it on.

Whether or not McGregor goes back to 145 to fight Aldo inbetween, I guess we'll see. Looking forward to the return of Nick Diaz, there's nobody quite like him.

Given that Henderson cleaned out our Mike 7 years ago with one of the most famous shots in MMA history, when Hendo was in his Testosterone-enhanced prime, and now Mike's the champion, this ought to make for an intriguing battle. Dan's haymaker still needs to be respected, but it's difficult to see where else he has the advantage (if you ignore wrestling, which he doesn't use much any more) over the champ, now that he's close to taking his pension (46). Doubt Mike's motivation has ever been higher, what with wanting to protect the belt, and avenge that KO loss. Would be good for the Count to retain his belt before losing it in his first legit defence.

Mike's got to be very careful here. Dan, despite his record, is still a lethal fighter, and Mike has it all to lose. Think he's going to need to wear Henderson down, then look for the TKO in the 4th or UD in the 5th. Will need the one of the smartest fights he's fought so far.

Caught up with a replay of the first fight https://youtu.be/lWCsSTQFIA8. That was a brutal knockout. Dan is surely past his prime now but it ought be an intriguing fight.

One of the all-time greats, that KO, with somewhat unnecessary afters. Dan was at his peak back then, and full of Testosterone injections (now banned). Bisping's lost all but one of his fights to PED users, and there was a whiff of suspicion about Kennedy when they fought. Given the build up to that fight, with them both coaching TUF teams, it's hardly a surprise that the GIF of the KO still gets aired now. Be good to see Mike get his revenge, via knee or booking left hook, but we'll see. Hendo's still a crafty, evil man in the cage and more than capable of plugging Bisping with that monster right hand.

Was a great fight and I had Bisping winning by 1 round  The geezer is so durable, how he survived those 2 knock downs is mental

Not for the first time, Bisping finds a way to win, upsetting millions of Americans in the process.

I was like, "Bloody hell!", when Henderson caught Bisping with that right hand at the end of the first round. Then he does it again in the second! What a fight!

McGregor wins at UFC 205. Now a two weight World Champion. Made it look easy, used his superior reach to drop Alvarez several times before the ref intervened in the 2nd round for a TKO (punches).

Hope they give him Khabib for his next fight at LW - man's a legit badass with a furious, clobbering style.

Khabib is the biggest threat. He ragdolls people. But even he got rocked by Michael Johnson last night. If it stayed on the feet, he'd be out quick.

If Nurmagomedov starts like he did last night then Mcgregor will knock him out. His reactions are so fast and his reach so long and he stays just out of range and counters better than anyone in the game (reminds me of how Andre Ward dominated Froch).

I think the only way to beat him is either have a height and reach advantage (but those guys are generally slow) or leg kick him and avoid him until he gasses in the 3rd round and then take him down.

Khabib could beat McGregor for sure if he managed to get him down and zap his energy. That's a big if though as it seems McGregor has developed great takedown defence which is massive for him

YWN, His takedown defence has dramatically improved since the Mendes fight but I think the improvement also has come from stopping those stupid spinning kicks that he used to do that always left him vulnerable to the takedown.

He was injured in the Mendes fight, that made his takedown defence look much worse than it is.

He doesn't like excuses, the reality was that he was doing too many crap heel kicks and stupid spins and a good wrestler took him down, a fit Mendes would have won that fight against the old Mcgregor. Since then he has come on leaps and bounds.

I don't know about that. Apart from the flying knee to open the fight, he was taken down underneath punch attempts. His use of spin kicks and front kicks were actually shrewd and precise against Mendes and contributed to gassing Chad. The 'full camp Chad' argument sounds like as much of an excuse as the injury that Conor had going into that fight.

I do agree with you though, the Diaz war has made him an even more rounded and efficient fighter.
