awesome! I'm also off on the 27th with my dad - bit of a yearly tradition to go now for his birthday. We got extremely lucky with the draw and we get to see Barney, Taylor and Van Gerwen all on the same session - old man is buzzing as we haven't managed to see Taylor before! :scarfer:

The talent and skill is exceptional, I won't go into the boards having larger treble and double segments to increase scoring, but Barry Hearn has turned darts into a sideshow

I would wager that 90% of the people that go to the darts aren't there to watch what is going on, but to drink beer and chant.

Reyes averaged 107 in that game, still lost 4-2. Incredible standard.

Always wanted to go but unlike most I'd actually go to watch the darts....is that possible? It doesn't seem so judging by what I see on the tele!

Lewis vs van Barneveld another cracker last night.

Watched one of the darts "gold" matches, Taylor vs Part in the 2003 final.....standard has shot up incredibly

How does one manage that in a fairly large arena? Darts are quite small , the areas they are aiming for quite small too.

Get in early and get decent seats at the tables. Plus there are large screens that you see can close ups of the action.

Cheers woodgreenspur. I assumed the closest tables would have been all corporate sponsors.

I suppose the BDO at the lakeside is probably the place to go if it's just about the darts though the gap in standard is really starting to open up.

Surprisingly not.We were on the 2nd table,so 3 people back from the front.
As i said, you have to get in early though. My mate bought the tickets at 10am sharp the day they went on sale. And that was in July.

Bloody hell, suppose for the latter stages the demand will be huge.

Well I can average 70 on a decent day so I'm probably more likely to make it as a player than a fan at this rate :D

Phil "the prick" Taylor up to usual antics again.

Having a pop at Wayne Mardle for being asked an honest and fair question.

Anderson v chizzy was just unbelievable. So glad Taylor is out. MVG is powering through but hasn't come up against any of the big boys. I backed Anderson at the start. He looks so at ease. Gonna be a great semi finals night

Andersons interviews are great, it's like he's just doing all this for a laugh and if he gets knocked out then so be it. I think he consistently goes the distance because his technique is so bullet proof, so few moving parts.

Having said that I think MVG will scrape past him but you're right - MVG hasn't been properly tested yet

I think Anderson will win it for the 3rd time, he's come along way since being BDO favourite at The Lakeside and losing early doors most years!.
