Re: Formula 1 2016 Thread
Williams sponsorship deal with Martini requires at least one driver over twenty five years old, so that cuts down the field somewhat.

You'd think so but I'd say Bottas is easily as good as Rosbergwestham, eggyandchips wrote:It appears Bottas is the new patsy. With Massa postponing retirement.

Re: Formula 1 2016 Thread
I was hoping that with a few personnel changes on the way, there might be a door opening somewhere for Paul Di Resta to get back in F1. Still might be, but Williams would have been ideal. Masa staying is a backward step.
Bottas will be winning GP's next season, that's as sure as mustard. Hopefully, Lewis will be winning a lot more.

Re: Formula 1 2016 Thread
Exactly. Over 25 he is, but Massa is not very quick. Williams are really setting for a steady Eddie approach rather than a winning one.
Bottas is the winner here. Must have been wondering if he'd ever win a race, now he's going to get his chance, unless Red Bull produce a monster.

Bottas confirmed.
Seems the Merceds team dont have a mandate to recruit at least one German driver then?

Not quick enough, IMO to beat Hamilton toe to toe. Beat Massa but didn't exactly do a convincing job.
Surprised Mercedes didn't go with Wehrlein, considering what Red Bull seem to be doing with Verstappen (although I'll admit Verstappen is an exceptional talent and will probably become a great)

How is that not a disqualification for Vettel.
He's driven into the side of Hamilton in a rage.

I'd say black.flag him for this race but he's damaged Hamilton's car and if he doesn't finish because of it then he's gained f*** all

Poor old Hamilton.

10 second stop go penalty for Vettel is a joke. What do you have to do to get disqualified?

Re: Formula 1 2016 Thread
Fantastic GP as far as entertainment value goes but how the f*** did Vettel get away with that????
Lewis was driving in front of Vettel and as such when he is behind the safety car, he can control the pace. It's up to Vettel to watch and judge his own speed accordingly. The fact that he didn't do that and ended up shunting Lewis was not dangerous driving, careless maybe. However, to then outrageously pull up alongside and deliberately turn into Lewis was nothing less than road rage and was most definitely dangerous. He should have either been disqualified or at the very least been pushed back a few places in the finishing order. Yet another case of F1 leaning over backwards for Ferrari. If it had been the other around I'm sure they would not have hesitated dishing it out to Lewis. Obviously, Lewis having to pit for safety reasons was rubbing salt into the wound.
Lewis never seems to get the rub of the green. Pleased to see some different faces on the podium but Vettel is a lucky ****er.
"Where was I driving dangerously?" What a Berkshire Hunt.

Ferrari International Assistance, or FIA for short, again demonstrates it's worth the subscription.

Absolutely shocking that Vettel got away with that. Deliberately drove into Hamilton in a rage, surely nothing short of disqualification. FIA bent as a nine bob note still then.

It was funny though. Like watching the two school bullies finally get it on.

I detest vettel even more now, although I did enjoy the sheer mentalness of it.
And if it wasn't for the dodgy headrest hamilton would've won, and vettel would've been fifth. That would've been enough for Hamilton to lead the world championship.

I really enjoyed that, cracking entertainment.
Vettel and road rage
As others have said, 10 second penalty, laughable. Felt for the young lad at the end, but he seemed more than ecstatic to be third, great drive from him.

As long as Jean Todt is President of FIA, Ferrari will always get an easy ride when it comes to disciplinary action.Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote:Ferrari International Assistance, or FIA for short, again demonstrates it's worth the subscription.
