Cook, Westley and Lawrence all averaging over 50 so far........and all English. Wonder if they'll be pushing for an England place (Obviously Cook should be there anyway).

Also in the semi-final of the 1-day cup.

Exciting times for Essex :scarfer:

As a Hampshire fan, I was also thinking we'd struggle this year but we seem to be doing fairly well so far. Hopefully both sides can stop the Yorkie juggernaut this year!

I wonder what affect it'll have on an already congested schedule?

TEST STAUS FOR IRELAND!! :scarfer:

Or as USA Cricket Guy says: Island Shamrockers are Full Franchise Cricketeers! Testing awesomeness awaits!

I no longer have to support England to watch some test cricket.

I understand the ICC are looking at a 9/3 league structure, so Zim/Afg/Ire will only be playing each other for the foreseeable future. Other Tests can be arranged outside of this schedule of course but as you say finding the time could be difficult. Would love to see the ECB arrange for Ireland's first ever Test to be at Lord's, though.

I don't agree with this at all.

It's fair enough that they manage to sporadically compete in the white ball game, but with test match cricket over five days the gulf in class will be absolutely huge, I'd anticipate many innings defeats ahead.

Looking at the team they regularly put out I suspect they'd struggle to stay up in the county championship div 1

We saw how long it took Bangladesh to compete at a reasonable level, and that's a cricket mad country of 160 million

Gutting news, the voice of summer radio for me. Nothing beats his wonderful descriptions of the mundane making them sound alive and vibrant. My dear old thing what an innings and thank you Blowers.

Boyd Rankin and William Porterfield are doing a great job of competing for Warwickshire currently aren't they.

Bottom of the county championship and getting pasted by an innings each match.

Ed Joyce couldn't get a county so had to go back to Ireland.

Dockrell was supposed to be the next one to go over to England but has turned out to be ****

Stirlings alright mind
