If the Windies can get that target then they deserve the win.

Be good to see how Finn bowls on this pitch...

The sound of irony is strong with this one

Ian Healy apparently losing all respect for Kohli because he has the audacity to sledge the Aussie batsmen. You have to wonder how he coped in a team of Hughes, Warne and McGrath for so long.

328 all out, could have been huge but lost wickets too frequently. Still think it will be too much for WI

With the Windies at 95-8, you could be right

There used to be a thread about cricket @ the OS but I can't find it for toffee now(!), so hope this is the next place to post this:

Did anyone else see Mason Cranes exploits in the week. Not seen much of him before but could be a real find.

Roy, Finch, KP and Sangakkara is some top 4 to have in T20, backed up with them curran brothers who I'm sure will play for England one day. Surrey have one tasty T20 side

As they seem to have every year Ryan, but it rarely fires.

Yep if he keeps going as he is he will be knocking down the door sooner rather than later. Also got to play for NSW which as a foreign player is relatively unheard of, especially at such a young age. Definitely one to keep an eye on I think

Bowlers win T20 games not batsmen, the team with the best attack usually wins, hence why the galactico way of signing the best batsmen on the planet in the IPL doesn't usually work.

Batsmen look flash but it's bowlers that have the real skill in T20 cricket, the margins are so small so anyone who gets it right is exceptional. Prime example of this is Tymal Mills

True. Went to Surrey v Glamorgan last year and Surrey's batting performance was pathetic.

Roy and Sangakkara both out cheaply if I recall..

A brave step into the 21st Century, or the death knell for 4 day cricket?

Personally, I think it Is a bit overdue and after all, India and Australia are still pretty handy at the 5 day form of the game despite the IPL and Big Bash. Clearly the T20 Blast isn't pulling in the punters and I think in the longer term, will wither away (they are being compensated as part of the deal), with counties concentrating on 50 over and 4 day game.

If the new T20 competition is a success, then possibly more people will get interested in the longer form of the game. However, the key to this is the matches being on terrestrial TV - hope the ECB, put long term development before short term gain.

As for the 8 teams .......any thoughts????
London
Leeds
Manchester
Nottingham
Cardiff
Southampton
Birmingham
Bristol/Newcastle .....??
