What is it with all of these sporting events these days that there HAS to be a raft of new stadia built for them all?

Going to sound a little biased here, but ours was a much better opening ceremony.

I remember reading comments from around the world ours was hard to understand, but having watched Rio this morning, mostly on fast forward, it's pretty dull and confusing to me. Too stop start, and random.

Humbug. :asleep:

Our budget was supposedly 12 times bigger.

Is it any wonder?

Ok, that's a fair point, but I'm not bothered about pyrotechnics, it just was messy and muddled. I didn't get much feel for Brazil from it.

The only bit that impressed me was the ground projection and the freerunning across the rooftops.

The audio was awful though , could not hear any of the songs really.

I'm struggling with the Northern commentator, shouldn't he be doing rugby league or something more... You know manly?

The Americans are better in the shooting events in which the suspect...I mean target is unarmed.

As a cycling fan that certainly was a brilliant course, brutal stuff. Really thought G was on for a medal, he is an expert at the late break on the flat run, just a pity he crashed on the descent.

Avamaet had it right though in his interview afterwards, they took bigger risks on the descent .

His course management was better in making sure he didn't fall off at 80kph
