If we are going to play 3-4 then there needs to be a huge improvement in the quality of linebackers on the roster. Granted we were starting 2 rookies, one a UDFA, but it's become a regular thing to be ground down in middle of the field in the second half. Can't cover or tackle. Overall, not a bad performance against a team that shut out the Cowboys last week.

Packers and Saints are two teams that seem to get all sorts of penalty calls that others don't.

Just sayin'

Stayed up to 5 AM and watched Chiefs V's Hawks.

Glad I did - what a great game. I love that kid Mahones for KCC and they play a lovely attacking style of football, shame about their def though :)

That said Wilson was exceptional most of the game. Him and Baldwin are a killer combo. Hawks def looked very suspect in the 2nd quarter but good old Ken Norton sorted them out and made the KCC pass the ball as it was clear they had the def to stop their running game.

Still a W and a place in the play offs - I'll take that any day of the week!

gut wrenching loss by my Texans - who must be in the Christmas Spirit giving up almost 500 yards to Nick Foles...

not that he's a bad quarterback but I think we've given up 400, almost 400 and then almost 500 in the past 3 games.

no running game to speak of and then having lost our fastest WR to an ACL injury, the bloke we got in a trade tore his Achilles yesterday..

a kid from Linestone Collge caught our "go ahead" t.d. with about 2 minutes left only for us to lose on a field goal as time expired..

this is not how you want to go into the play offs that's for sure.......

speaking of giving up yards, this really is a q.b.'s league now...300 yards was virtually a fantastic game.

look at yesterday:

Foles - 471
Rogers - 442
Roethlisberger - 380
Luck - 357
Darnold - 341
Watson - 339
Winston - 336
Brees - 326
Manning - 309

that's ridiculous.............

and 8 running backs over 100 yds

and 10 wide receivers over 100 yds

:asleep:

good finish to the Saints/Steelers game though

Passing yards not necessarily a reflection of a winning offense. Teams that fall behind have to pass the ball a lot to catch up. Team leading the league in passing yards per game: Tampa

After a 30 year hiatus, I’m in my second season of getting back into NFL, and am starting to pick up some of the intricacies of the game and at the moment am appreciating the skills of the various QBs playing,

Just watched the highlights of that game and agree with you about Mahones, he is a joy to watch - his speed of thought and foot is outstanding and as for some of the passes he makes, are remarkable. Wilson is a great player too.

I also watched the Saints v Steelers game beforehand, and Drew Brees is another QB who is great to watch - he appears to have unlimited time to make plays and must have eyes in the back of his head.

Not quite our Burnley game standard but thought this might be of interest to NFL fans...

New York Giants fans are fighting for their right to curse out their team.

Two Giants fans are alleging in a federal complaint filed in San Jose, Calif., last week that their free speech rights were violated when police officers at Levi’s Stadium arrested them for cursing and flipping off players.

According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred Nov. 12, 2017, in a game between the Giants and the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara. Brothers Kyle and Patrick Flynn started to give the middle finger to Giants players and shouted “you f-----g suck” at them.

There is a video of one being ejected.

Hard to see how the Saints aren't going to win the superbowl for me. They seem to be the only team who really have a top offence and defence.

Obviously anything can happen in cup games, but all the AFC contenders have too many weaknesses to be able to beat them. Don't think they can be outscored, maybe one of the strong defensive teams like Chicago might be able to restrict them.

I'm a Chiefs fan but can't see them even making the superbowl, for all Mahome's magic that defence leaks too many points.

Another last min win for the Hawks over a very impressive cardinals team that shocked me with their win/loss record this season. They played really well, had more than enough chances to win but somehow failed to take them. Still Cowboys away in the playoffs and I'd much rather that than the Bears - with Treblisky (spelling) they look a formidable outfit.

Interesting times ahead.

did the Saints rest a load of guys yesterday ?

coaching merry-go-round has started

Denver
Jets
Cards "expect"

anyone watching the Raiders/Chiefs game at all ?

Raiders line up after getting back into the game at least in terms of moving the ball.

Raiders TE (87 I think) is by the sidelines after "jogging" a route, wasn't even looking back at Carr. now he's walking and Carr is actually throwing him the ball.

Grateful corner/safety/LB grabs the ball and runs it back for a pick-six.

never seen anything like that in all my days watching football.

Shirley even if you are not the targeted receiver your never give up on the route. even if it's a running play it could have broken down and the QB needs help or at least you are trying to block ?

I couldn't believe my eyes and couldn't get the sound working so I have no idea what was said.

Facing a 2nd-and-10 at the 50-yard line with just under six minutes remaining in the first quarter, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr threw a pass in the direction of tight end Jared Cook. But Cook appeared to not realize the ball was coming to him and slowed up on the play, which allowed Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen to pick off Carr's pass and take it 54 yards for a touchdown. The point after from Harrison Butker gave the Chiefs a 14-0 lead.

two good play off games today

Texans H to the Colts (going to be extremely tough)

Cowboys H to the SeaHawks - Hawks have better record but the Cowboys are a divisional winner as opposed to Seattle being a wild card..

Horrific ankle injury to Hurns. If you haven't seen it, don't look for it.

Texans outcoached and Watson had a poor game. Had at least a half dozen passes fall short of their target, including the incompletion on 4th down just before the half when they should have kicked the FG. Had games like that in college, where he would be wildly inconsistent with his throws. Romeo Crennel sorted out the Texans defense at the half but they were already well behind and not enough offense to catch up, even with a touchdown gifted in spite of a replay showing pretty clearly it was a turnover.

Cowgirls should be cruising in this game but tied at 3. Think Seattle's experience will pull them through.
