Its hard to put a context for English football fans. Bradford City winning the Premiership?

This is absolutely surreal.

Nah, not even close. Tbh, it's probably more akin to West Ham winning the league. Popular loser from a huge city that's had a very long run at being ****, had a few golden opportunities and blown them all. But the Cubs aren't in any way a small club. They're huge. They've just consistently sucked.

The Leicester win is the more improbable story. Without relegation in MLB you can't compare what Leicester did to what the Cubbies just did.

Anyhow, congrats Chicago. My friend Mike must be out of his mind right now. 40 years a season ticket holder. And I hope Chicago behaves itself tonight. please don't burn your own city down.

At 3-1 down I thought there was no way back. My boss is a huge Cubbies fan and she, even at that margin still believed.
Amazing. That was as exciting and as tense a game 7 you'll ever see.
Murphy can now rest, the smelly b*stard.

My neice has been working in Chicago for the past 3 months and has been loving the atmosphere of the WS. Shame she came home yesterday and missed the best bit!!

Tickets were a bit pricey though.

I don't think he's been to another game since. Refused interviews, offers of tickets and advertising/ endorsements.

Don't have the slightest clue about the rules of baseball but it's always seemed to me their fans are more 'football-like' than their other big sports and the grounds look to have the kind of feel to them that I like. Great story too so I'm glad they did it.

Been to a couple of games since moving here but never really got into baseball that much.

Could not turn off the game last night though. Amazing how it unfolded and the tension to go along with it. Looking like they were heading for the win only to let Cleveland back in at the death. Then when they look like they might buckle they hold their sheit together to get the win in that additional inning. Having been 3-1 down in the series too. Great stuff!!!

I love this old dude's reaction. And he's a young whippersnapper compared to a lot of Chicago fans who've been waiting. I hope against hope this can happen for some of our (West Ham) lifers.

And this man... Get used to it dude. You don't get to be the lovable losers anymore and that bandwagon is biiiiiiig.

Is it fair to say it's 121 years and counting for us?

Watched Game 7 from the bottom of the fourth and as a sporting spectacle, I'd have to say it was one of the greatest things I've seen. So glad I stayed up for it.

Well done to the Cubbies!
