Wanstead at 11.30am? He has a match in York at 7.30pm tonight. :eh: Has plenty of time to get here, I suppose.

Massive attention seeker. A big hero of mine though.

Probably brought on by not spending enough time with his parents as a kid and being an only child?

FWIW, he won 6-0 in the first round of the UK Championships last night.

Mate of mine spent a few hours doing a test drive with him a while back, said he was a thoroughly decent, genuine down to earth guy out of the spotlight.

Definitely a troubled bloke.

The best to ever pick up a cue, no doubt.

Some doubt, I'd say. Most naturally gifted, for sure, but you can make strong cases for Davis and Hendry (and also Joe Davis, based on stats alone) for title of Best Ever. There were times that Steve & Stephen were as close to unbeatable as you can get.

Ah I didnt mention that that's only my opinion.

Naturally gifted he's the best by a stretch, if he had the application of a Davis/Hendry his numbers would be stupid.

Anyone watching this? Absolutely bruising snooker from these two. 8-7 to Selby, Ronnie booming back.

I went out a few times with Ronnie back in the day - thoroughly decent chap, with a bit of the weirdness any genius possesses I guess.

When he is on top form I find it simply mesmerising watching him make a very difficult sport look so easy.
It's ridiculous. Nugget and Jimmy W will always be firm favourites from watching in my younger years, but Ronnie is on a different planet. Love watching him play.

Anyone watch Ronnie O'Sullivan's American Hustle? Very interesting basically him touring America learning the origins of Pool & hustling with a bit of history thrown.

Good stuff.

Have they got to the episode where he has his fingers broken in a downtown Detroit pool hall?

Yes, I watched this and enjoyed it too - someone above mentioned about him being a troubled soul. Probably not helped by his Dad being nick for a lot of his youth.

Quite an interesting bromance between him and Matt Smith, who appears to be the other end of the spectrum.
