Played my 1st round of the year yesterday at Brentwood (old South Weald), 32 points, starting an ending with par's. 4 hours to get round despite the occasional delays due to a couple of heavy showers and ducks crossing the fairways.

Cheeky 9 holes over crowlands this evening

18 points

was more pleased with creaming 2 drives down the middle 230 yards with a tiny draw.. been working on my driver a lot and they defo came straight out the middle of the club

proves the lesson wasnt wasted

230 down the middle is very respectable indeed. The trouble usually starts when you try to hit it even further. In my case I sometimes do indeed hit it further, the problem is it's usually on an adjoining fairway :(

Looking to get a few lessons booked up over the summer months. Can anyone recommend anywhere reasonably priced around Upminster, Hornchuch, Romford way?

Lessons you get what you pay for I find

James sharp at top meadow is reasonable he was my first pro but I've switched to david Rawlings at cranfield golf centre in chadwell Heath he is £45 an hour but worth every penny

Yeah that's what I need! Keep this up

I've got the 10.5 degree head for my m2 arriving today with an event tomorrow I'm gonna leave the 12 degree on until my next round and when I go my driver fitting I'll compare all my figures and go with the best for me

Might be a m2 for sale very soon so if I buy a new shaft I will have a complete m2 ready to shift so watch this space people lol

With my 3 I consistently hit it over 200 yards with a little draw, or dead straight.

With my driver I might as well just turn 90 degrees to the right a drive the ball that way.

I had a lesson last week on the driver with my new pro, best £45 I have spent for sure

first round was 2 days later bit hit and miss

but yesterday some really nice strikes and can feel myself swinging in a more in to out path

if I drive like that tomorrow ill come in with 40 plus points as I have been scoring around the 30 mark scrambling all the time

I always feel like I over or under reach with my driver. Can't seem to get my stance right at all. Can nail 160-180 comfortably with a 6 iron and around 200 with my 3 wood but consistency is terrible.

My chipping is also horrendous. Putting very good and irons shots generally pretty good. I'm deciding whether to invest in some lessons. I just struggle to find the time to be honest but I enjoy it when I play and want to try and get less terrible and more consistent.

One thing that does put me off about golf is that there are many old sods who seem to like nothing more than just being busy bodies on golf courses.

Lessons best investment

In one driver lesson I have gone from a slice 160 distance when I loose control to a slight fade or draw 200 yards carry
