Fantastic Qtr Final between Ronnie and Ding Junhui. Would love to see Ding go on to lift the title now. Selby bores the tits off me.

Re: World Snooker
Yep Selby could be the best player in the world but I'd never chose to watch him. Give me a Trump or a Ronnie over the grinder everyday.
Also did anyone catch the BBC documentary on Ding and the rise of Chinese snooker in general. Amazing levels of commitment and numbers playing the game. Next 10 years they'll be the world force

Re: World Snooker
Already a fair few in the WC this year. As you say, they will make up 90% of the players soon and before long the WC will be held there, as the money on offer will be too much to turn down.Slacking student wrote:Yep Selby could be the best player in the world but I'd never chose to watch him. Don't watch snooker incessantly but this Selby
'The Jester from Leicester' - wtf is that all about?
Never seen him crack his face!
How do you qualify for being a jester anyway? Do you have to go to jester school? (ala Harry Potter)
If he did go he must have bailed out after the first term and just likes to have it on his C.V.

Re: World Snooker
I'm not sure he has the all round game to win the whole thing any more. Kind of depends on whether Selby gets through.Essex bill wrote:As long as the chubby match fixer doesn't win it I ain't fussed.
I think Selby will have his number over best of 35 these days but think the fat **** could beat Ding.
He will see Hawkins off I have no doubt about that.
Dubious morals but in the Top 3 players ever, better than Davis.

Re: World Snooker
I expect Higgins to win his semi final comfortably but I have no idea as to who he'll meet in the final. Selby and Ding could go all the way to a deciding frame. Want Ding to win the title though.

Re: World Snooker
Well played Ding. I was a little concerned he might get too far behind at one stage but he came back well tonight to level the match. Gonna be a classic tomorrow afternoon.

Re: World Snooker
Tough luck for Ding. He gave it everything but Selby was just too good. He's dull as ditch water but effective and knows how to grind out a win. Maybe next year for Ding?

Re: World Snooker
Selby v Higgins could get the lowest ever viewing figures for a world final.
I usually love watching the final but not bothered about that

Re: World Snooker
I don't understand the boring tag for Selby. He's the best player in the world at the moment, and has played some outlandishly good shots this year. Perhaps it come because of his tactical acumen or his determination, as Davis used to get the same criticism when he was at his height, as Selby is now.
