Para version, yes. There is some sort of discount available.
Didn't see any mention of anything for the main games, so doubt it.

I don't know why Usain Bolt has entered the sprint races - he is 31 in August so his legs must have gone.

What does everyone think of rubbing out all the World Records pre 2005 (I think it was).

Seems like a ****ing stupid idea to me, given that loads of records set since then will be tainted.

They're just pissed off that nobody can run within 2 seconds of Marita Koch's 400m record.

That's basically in there until the end of human civilisation with the amount of gear she was having pumped into her.

Nobody could cheat like the GDR women. Absolutely brutal.

The USA might have something to say about that.

Does it mean that ALL world records achieved before 2005 are to be wiped out including those subsequently beaten, or only those still in existence?
In other words even old Lord Coes old records would be struck off.
if not it would be only those still standing, which seems slightly daft in a way.
Poor old Jonathan Edwards, his would be gone, he was a freak of nature and am pretty sure he never took drugs, although to be fair who actually knows?

i think it's just a way (the cheaper one) to give the impression that it's a clean sport now, while it actually isn't.

Correct.

To answer Mushy's question I think they propose to refer to previous world records as "world bests" or something equally stupid.

Radcliffe's would go , Mike Powell's long jump would go.

I see Gatlin is "shocked" at this news.

The man who won the WC 100m at 35 running as fast as he ran when he was cheating and about 10 years younger.

I'm warming to Gatlin , just because he is the most shameless **** in the world.

If Gatlin really is shocked he's the only one.

I, for one, believe Justin is clean. The fact that he's been banned twice previously, set unprecedented times in his mid-30s and his coach is Dennis Mitchell (banned in 1998 for doping violations) is all just coincidental.

He must hate the sport of athletics as he's clearly on a one-man mission to destroy it.

Presumably, as World Athletics are letting him run again, all the effects of years of drugs must have completely worn off.

Uzbek freestyle wrestler Artur Taymazov has become the 60th athlete and eighth gold medallist disqualified from London 2012 after a doping sample re-test.
..................................

"The IOC has been storing samples from the Olympic Games since Athens 2004 and has re-analysed them systematically," the governing body said after one of Taymazov's samples from London 2012 resulted in a positive test for oral steroid turinabol.

"The fight against doping is a top priority for the IOC, which has established a zero-tolerance policy to combat cheating and to make anyone responsible for using or providing doping products accountable."
