Enjoying TMS today and also missus jaye's smirks and chuckles whenever de Kock is at the crease

'de Kock is forward...'
'de Kock plays a delightful stroke...'
'de Kock ... straighens himself here'

I think it might come to a head when 'de Kock is out'!!

good job she does not follow Vaughan on twitter

Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
Dawson is just trapping De Kock on the crease. He is bowling a good length and keeping him in two minds.

72-7 - getting silly now, Ali 4-30. Great stuff

If this was a county game the inspectors would be looking at the pitch.

There was a question of where de Kock slots in (to the batting line up). It's also fair to say de Kock is explosive when he gets in.

Moeen has been fantastic, and well supported by Dawson. Good thing is the seamers are getting a nice rest for the 2nd test too.

What happened to Hameed?

He had that finger injury against India and not heard from his since.

Looked a real talent and capable of opening the batting.

Have to say I don't have high hopes for Jennings.

Been in very poor form this summer so not in the equation.

Typical England. Some great batting, good bowling, seem to let them back in the game, some more decent batting, then a worrying collapse, bit of a rearguard and then a comfortable demolition of their batting line up.

This Saffer team looks pants in truth. Decent in spells individually but nowhere near the team of a couple of years ago.

Team the same at Trent Bridge unless they want to bring in Roland Jones for Dawson. Weather is meant to cool down this week and not sure what the pitch up there is like at the moment. Seamers paradise from memory?

Pleased for Moeen. Felt sorry for him when they had that mad idea of him opening the batting not so long ago.

Have to stick with Jennings for a while. We've rattled through so many in our search for an opener we have to give him the series.
