Re: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather
Think it was Joe Rogan on one of his podcasts that said, for the first time in his career Mayweather, is facing a guy, that outside of the ring would beat him, no question.
I wonder if that thought has crept into Floyd's mind.

Re: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather
It's not being fought outside the ring though.
I'd have backed Ricky Hatton to kick the **** out of him if they fought outside the ring, look what happened there.
McGregor looks more and more nervous as the fight gets closer, I think it's finally hit him that he is up against one of the most gifted boxers ever.

Re: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather
Everyone questions how McGregor can beat Mayweather, nobody questions how Mayweather can beat McGregor.
McGregor’s an artist of space and distance if McGregor shocks everyone and turns counter puncher Mayweather will have to chase him down and come out of his comfort zone and exchange. McGregor will take punches to throw punches where Mayweather doesn’t but if Mayweather’s only way of winning rounds is to come forward he has to abandon his philly shell style and stand orthodox against a heavy handed southpaw.
It’s actually in McGregors best interest to not go hunting but become the hunted. Mayweather’s ego and expectation should dictate that he would need to come forward if McGregor is letting him.
This fight for me is nowhere near as cut and dried as people are expecting.

Mayweather has played down how competitive he is, which has no doubt helped sell this
On fight night, the average fan will see a different animal. He won't allow complacency, even against a novice. He never has his whole career.

I wouldn't think so. His whole career has been about boxing technique and ability, not being a tough brawler.somerset-hammer wrote:Think it was Joe Rogan on one of his podcasts that said, for the first time in his career Mayweather, is facing a guy, that outside of the ring would beat him, no question.

Mayweather more so.RayleighHammer23 wrote: McGregor’s an artist of space and distance.
I'm just bored of the McGregor fan boys. Here is a guy tagged cleanly by Nate Diaz. A good boxer by MMA standards but distinctly average otherwise.
He does not have the boxing IQ to even begin to comprehend what Mayweather can do all the tricks and traps that he has.
He'll be catching punches with his face all evening and won't see most of them coming .

Totally agree (what's that bouncing **** he does when he throws them body shots? Look like zebedee the ****) but I'll just say this: Ali is widely regarded as the greatest boxer of all time and half his fights were bent. As Rars says DONT lump on.White Goodman wrote: Mayweather more so.

That said, my prediction is that Money wins in about 6 or 7. McGregor gains some kind of moral victory by being 'competitive', all the faces have it right off (kerching) and we have to endure all this again next year #rematch. Floyd wants to be the first billionaire sportsman.....

Re: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather
I don't really follow boxing any more, I have no idea about cage fighting. The first time I have ever seen or heard McGregor was at the weigh in yesterday which i have just watched on the BBC.
1) McGregor is a cock. Did he think he was on WWE?
2) The notion that a non boxer can get into a ring with one of the greatest fighters ever and stand a chance is laughable.
3) Maybe age would be a factor if the fight went long enough but it won't. Can't see McGregor lasting more than 3 or 4 rounds.
4) How the f*** can 2 men earn so much for an exhibition match?

Re: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather
If it goes past 4 rounds, McGregor will wilt. By round 8 he'll be so tired Mayweather will pick him off and take it to points.
Here's hoping McGregor can get him within two.

Re: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather
Lol Mayweather is an utter utter pro he doesn;t care whether it's knockout or points as long as he gets the W, I don;t think he can believe his getting paid to fight some random irish amateur who has the boxing experience of Batsuai, he is literally going to abuse him, he made the worlds bet Canelo look like a random in a gym, he will make this irish fellow look like louiie walsh, unbelievable that any one believes this geezer has a chance against an absolutism freak

McGregor's winning this thing so far. Mayweather looks old.
He's camped out inside Floyd's head right now.
In the 8th McGregor's maybe running out of steam.

A punch bag with not even half the power he was supposed to have.

Re: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather
I mean, for the first 5 rds he landed about a half dozen jabs and Floyd didn't do much. Looked slow in response. It's one sided now. McGregor looked done. Not sure that should have been stopped tbh. Should have let him knock him out.
Basically it was an old man champ vs a non boxer. Played out as advertised.
Looking at it again, did McGregor tell the ref he was done?
