My -12 prediction didn't take into account the conditions for the 1st two days

Players need to shoot really low on Saturday and Sunday to get near -12

I don't know, would expect clubhouse leader to be around -5 today so you're in with a chance.

Could see the first 62 ever in a major today. Conditions perfect for low scoring.

I think Graces "record" round (which is it really a record.. -8, the previous 63 was a -9 so thats surely better) will be broken very shortly.......

DJ or Rory look on it

Well that was some final round, really thought Speith had right royally ****ed up on 13th! Fair play to Kuchar for pushing him all the way, but the Koooooochhhh calls every time he plays a shot is really ****ing annoying now!

Great round by Li as well.

Speith held it together well yesterday when on the verge of another final day meltdown, those five holes were amazing, Kuchar didn't do anything wrong it was just Speith ripping it up. Sad that it ended up being a battle of the yanks with no real threat coming from Brits or European players - McIlroy was too little too late but hopefully from where he was early on day one, he can take something to kickstart his season.

Cheers Souly for doing this again, I didn't fare too well this year.

SC you are a genius  ... just a shame the rest of my team didn't turn up (apart from Grace on the Saturday).

Thought Speith was very lucky on the 13th, to be that far off course in a professional tournament is shocking. He really did turn it on after that lucky break though.

Congrats to Jordan Speith on his victory - will surely go on to be one of the game's greats. A class act off the course too I thought.

Right, onto the comp, and in the end we too had the final pairing battling it out over the closing holes...

First of all, 4 players had the correct score, including our winner and runner-up this time. And those two players were the only ones to pick Speith, which was somewhat surprising.

Anyway, in reverse order:

3rd - 15 points - NT_Hammer, Westhameggyandchips
2nd - 21 points - JBB
And our winner, with 24 points, was Richard99Cook. Spent two days at Royal Birkdale and walked off with the spoils. Well done that man.

Final totals:

24 - Richard99Cook
21 - JBB
15 - NT_hammer, WHEC
14 - VMixture
10 - Rio, PSTL
9 - Row X
8 - Bongo
7 - Light'n'bitter
5 - Mega Ron, Polaroid
4 - ChickenRunSupreme
2 - Hessa
0 - SoulCircus
-1 - CRFC Hammer, Mumbles87
-5, Hammerdivone, SLWO
-7 - Fishbone

Thanks for playing everyone...

Thanks Souly, appreciate you doing these. Always good fun.

Congratulations Souly.

Always liked Speith, but I have to say that the whole performance around the penalty drop, the associated drama and 20 minutes between shots didn't reflect well on him for me. I think he could reasonably have been docked a shot for slow play. It certainly wasn't fair on Kucher.
I'd be interested to know if the car park is out of bounds for members at Birkdale, I haven't seen that answered yet, other than being confirmed it isn't out of bounds for the Open.
