I think they should use the duck theory on this blokeshe.

'If it looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, then it's a duck'.

Just substitute 'duck' for 'bloke'.

No science needed.

Isaac Makwala gets to run on his own at 6.40......Heat 8, lane 7 ... :)

Needs to run 20.53 or faster to get through to the semi-finals.

Apologies for the stretched page.

The current standard of athletics is so bad at the moment, the 200m gold has just been won in a time of 20.09!

Not a bad day for GB after a relatively disappointing championships so far. A shame that Mo couldn't get the second gold but not a bad way to bow out. The girls did brilliantly and although I'm gutted for Bolt, the boys were excellent.

Canada's relay team did the crossed hammers when they came out. Fantastic performance from our guys, shame drama queen Usain Bolt had to be centre of attention again

He is the greatest sprinter that the world has ever seen. It was his last ever race. He enjoys playing to the crowd and having a laugh. The people who pay to see him enjoy watching his antics almost as much as they enjoy seeing him run. Did you expect anything else? Oh, and in spite of all of that, he wasn't trying to lap up the attention after the race, even though he clearly could have if he'd wanted to.

I should have put the winky emoji on, I was being sarcastic. I know he didn't pull up on purpose!

It's a shame he did, I don't think he would have caught Mitchell-Blake.

What a race that men's 100m relay was. Equally fantastic and heart wrenching at the same time - a great run by the GB boys but also incredibly sad to see Bolt finish his career like that. One of a very select band of sportsmen/women to transcend all, regardless of nationality (Mohammed Ali, being the only other one I can think of).

Mo Farah tells media: ‘If you say I’ve done something wrong, prove it.’

So basically I've cheated but find the proof

My daughter just asked me why a man won the women's 800m

She won't have it that 'it's' a woman

Also yesterday's gem, why can't white people run fast?

There was a great clip earlier of the 4 British sprint girls watching the 4 blokes win gold straight after their silver. It showed fantastic team spirit and they were bouncing around like my little daughter at Christmas with excitement

A little disappointing from a British medal tally perspective but some encouraging performances from the newer faces in the relays which bode well for the Olympics.

Perhaps some could benefit from not only the type of training undertaken by Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis but also their work ethic. I think that Jess Judd could be a great runner if she can add some steel to her character.

Was interesting listening to Greg Ruderford, very scaving of our coaches in the UK. He goes to Phoenix, Mo is in US etc. Ask why our top athletes we go? Apparently the answer isn't the climate as the press report . We have the best sports physiologists, best physios but poor coaches.

Tony Minochello (sp) agreed with him, we are all about the cherry on top and less about the cake.
