Indeed. Smith is arguably the best batsman in the world.

Could you imagine Messi being given a year ban by Barcelona for diving or similar?

I have no sympathy for Smith. It wasn't long ago that the cricket world were united in their support for Australian cricket over the death of Phil Hughes.

Didn't stop Warner acting like a twat while Smith chuckled alongside him in the slips.

What those 3 did is akin to drug taking. But the episode goes far beyond cheating, hence the length of the bans.

1. It’s senior players getting the youngest member to carry out the plan.

2. Lying to the Umpires.

3. Lying in the press conference.

They have been at it for ages, hence Starc being “injured” for this Test. He has been swinging the old ball round corners for a while now and those 3 missing and no swing sound give the game away.

It's more than just those three factors though. It's not as if someone was caught nicking the quarter seam with his thumbnail or 'accidentally' scraping the rough side on the concrete pitch surround, it was a planned and organised deception that involved bringing equipment onto the pitch in order to cheat.

This is a very good article by Maxi Klinger on Cameron Bancroft and how he is coping on the back of this

I hope he gets the dupport he needs and in the future wins his spot back in the side.

Also is it just me that's enjoying Faf keeping the Aussies out there. Currently 540 in front and still no declaration.

It's driving Warne mad which is always nice to hear.

South Africa only need to draw to win the series. I would have batted all day and in to tomorrow purely for knowing how much it would wind up the Aussies

This series has been brilliant, especially after the Aussies were declaring themselves the number 1 test team in the world after the Ashes

I've never been so happy to see the Saffers win a series.
