One hell of a race today.

Max is having to learn some hard lessons this year. He is a huge talent, but he needs to learn to see the bigger picture at times, aggression in both attack and defence is not the way to F1 world titles.

I enjoyed it today as i did the same race last season. I wish all tracks had this amount of jeopardy.
Okay, most of the excitement was caused by crashes but it was the circuit that created this. No enormous wide passing areas with enormous wide run off ares to safely drift into.
Maybe Ecclestone was on to something when he suggested his sprinkler idea a few years back.
Clearly something is needed to shuffle the pack up to make it more interesting.

Baku is the street circuit Monaco should be. Fantastic entertainment even with a Hamilton win.

I'm not his biggest fan (even though I've warmed to him more the last couple of years) but he was due some luck.

Totally agree about Baku - Monaco though. I'd have Monaco off the circuit though of course that will never happen in a million years.

Well as I have always done, I support the British drivers, so Lewis of course.

I'm very anti Ferrari, so anyone beating them up is in my good books.

Like the new Renaults and want to see Sainz and Hulk do well.

Obviously enjoy seeing good racing.

Like BILR, I will always support a British driver and have been a fan of Hamilton since his rookie season at McLaren, which he really should have won the title, but never mind.

I like to see competitive racing and like drivers to have a go rather than opt for a conservative drive. Hamilton always goes for it, as does Vettel, Verstappen and Ricciardo. I like Ricciardo but not sure if he is good enough to win a title. Verstappen has the raw talent but needs to calm the f*** down. As for Vettel, no doubting his ability at all but he can be a bit of a plum, as can Lewis at times. However I would always back Lewis over Vettel and the rest of the field .
Raikkonen is comedy gold and for no particular reason I've always had a soft spot for Force India.

More than anything though, I just want to see good racing.

Isn't being capable of being an utter, utter ****hole pretty much part of every top racing driver's DNA?

You'll be in a right pickle when Lewis joins Ferrari then.

Aye, tends not to favour the milder personality type. More the ruthless, single-minded nutcases, really.

It is to me. If I don't like a particular team or sportsman, I don't have to justify it. Thats just how it is, regardless of nationality.

That is a very good point. Then I'll have to be Forza Lewis :D

My problem with Ferrari started with Schumacher. Team orders so embarrassing in my view it dimmed his achievements massively. Getting Barrichello to pull over from race 1 each season was a disgrace to the sport.

They still run the same manual, now getting Kimi to defer on all matters. Don't know how he stomachs it.

My hope would be that Lewis has never ducked a fight, he doesn't put restrictions on team mates and only wants equality. Whereas Vettel happily takes any points Kimi serves up, Lewis even handed back 3rd place to Bottas in a Championship fight.

I'd hope that he'd take those ethics to Ferrari and clean them up.

Id have to agree. Dark times for F1 with some of the nonsense that went on with MS and various team mates. Shame really, as I like Kimi and I used to be a big fan of Eddie Irvine.

From Q3 on Saturday to the chequered flag on Sunday Lewis was fully in control. Fair play.

That Mercedes certainly likes running in cooler air temps.

The good thing is that we have an unpredictable season. Because of track type, temperature and tyre issues any one of 6 drivers can feasibly win (well 5 actually because Kimi is not allowed to beat Vettel in any normal circumstances.

A few weeks ago I fancied Vettel to win the WC this year, as they looked consistent. Then all of a sudden Ferrari had a shocker in Spain and now you wonder if Lewis will dominate.

Hopefully we will get a few races where all 3 teams get dialled in on the same track and we get a cracker.

I still want to see Lewis and Max go head to head in the wet.
