The really annoying thing from Mercedes perspective is it isn't the first time they've screwed up safety car pit stops and they've got it wrong the same way each time, namely leaving him out while everyone else pitted. Making a mistake is forgivable, failing to learn from it not so.

My dislike for Hamilton is being overtaken by the support team of Mercedes. Toto Wolff in particular gives me the bollock ache with his histrionics every time the camera is put on him. Same with Lauda. WTF does he do btw?

On top of the strategic f-ups they seem to encounter in at least 5 races a season. Unless they're winning races on pure pace alone, they seem a bit clueless.

Mercedes problem is they are too reliant on data. They have computers to work out all their strategy and never use their gut. When the virtual safety car comes out they are too busy worrying about deltas and tyre degredation and not enough about track position.

The head of strategy should be a racer, not a computer gamer.

The one weakness of Lewis is that he lets the team do all the calls. Yes in a team you need total faith in each other, but I wonder if a Prost or Alonso would keep getting caught out like this.

So who reckons Williams won't finish 19th and 20th? I really wish I followed drivers as opposed to a team

Massive off in FP3 for Hartley - front left collapses on the straight - very lucky boy!

Hamilton’s start was pish, but getting T-boned was pretty unlucky. Done very well to carve back to 6th.

Safety car removes any doubt about the Germans tyres. He seems to be getting all the luck at the moment.

Williams yet again proving to be the strongest of the teams, holding up everyone else (literally) from the back of the grid! You have to laugh or you'd cry

Unlucky? T-boning a Mercedes is now a standard Ferrari tactic .... you should get a 30 second stop-go penalty minimum if you cause an accident ... stewards just lack the balls to do it to Ferrari ....

Barely got a mention. Had he got a better start, its likely he wouldnt of been tagged by Kimi. Obviously he wasnt his fault for the start though.

Great Racing by Hamilton to get on the podium after that start. The safety cars certainly helped though.

BTW, Bottas is poor considering the car he drives.

Hamilton's season goes from bad to worse, breaks down in Q1 after appearing to damage the car. Body language was terrible. Vettel on pole and at the moment looking like he will pull further away.

Clearly caused damage to the car, refuses to stop under orders from the team then stands sulking next the damn thing whilst stewards are trying to recover it!

An utter knob of a bloke.

Vettel crashes out in the damp, Lewis as usual (currently) a monster in the rain and leading. The tide has firmly turned. Assuming he can finish this off.
