Rest in peace Brissie, loved the arrogance and the ability to back it up.

Was a joy to watch and almost unbeatable in his heyday. Sad news.

Classic Eric in action. That little finger pointing outwards.

Very sad to hear this. Bristow was my darts hero and without him, Darts would be nowhere near as big as it is now. He was a maverick and in his pomp there was no one who could keep up with him. His talent was as big as his personality and he was the biggest star of darts and despite his bucket load of World Titles, Phil Taylor would never capture the public imagination in the same way. In fact were it not for Bristow's financial sponsorship in the early days, Taylor may not have achieved the success he did.
In the same way that when Hurricane Higgins' snooker career went downhill I rapidly lost interest in snooker, I started to lose a bit of interest in darts when Bristow's career faded. They were cut from the same cloth, entertainers and people's champions and on their day, absolutely unplayable.
Farewell Crafty Cockney. RIP

He got me watching darts with the hope someone would beat him. I would always cheer on whoever he was playing. Whether it was Jocky Wilson, John Lowe, Mike Gregory or Big Cliff.
Occasionally one of them would beat him but overall he was the top man in that era.
R.I.P Eric
