NH6, personally I do, I've rated Buttler in all formats for years, and thought he should've been back in the test side ages ago. Do I think Bairstow is better than Foakes, yes, but Foakes was in possession and did well and didn't deserve to lose his place. Do I think Bairstow better than Moeen, yes, but we need the extra spinner.

Is it too early to vote for Sam Curran as SPOTY?

Nice bowling from Leach, he does seem to bowl the odd unplayable ball. 285 looking a good score on this, unless the pitch dies it will be tasty by day 3.

Yeah good swing from Curran at the end of the innings there.

What a talent he looks to be.

Good movement from Leach too. Maybe I was a bit harsh on him in the past, although would like to see him replacte this form back on our pitches.

Yup, I do. I have heard enough commentators say that Bulter may be one of the most talented batsmen in world cricket to accept it.

Apart from his wobble against India in the summer I'd agree Bairstow has been decent, but he does lack flexibility. He is always aggressive, in a team full of shot playing batsmen he is another in the same mould, and he doesn't show the ability to reign it in at times. Buttler has shown on numerous times already he plays to the situation, and in my view makes a better all round batsmen than Bairstow.

Bairstow also seems to be quite sulky and demanding, in the context of where he bats and him keeping the gloves.

Buttler comes across as someone who will just get on with whatever is asked of him.

Another for Buttler, he has that Gilchrist edge when you look up at a batting lineup and see someone who can genuinely counter attack and turn a test on it's head. Pretty sure I read he is averaging just under 49 this year as well

Personally, I'd have Bairstow opening With Burns. Thats the future.

I’ve been advocating Bairstow opening for some time too, problem is he won’t keep and do that and seems to want to be keeping.

I think Buttler is an extra terrestrial cricket player.

Bairstow is a talented batsmen but a sulky Yorkshireman.

Bairstow doesn't have the temperament or technique to open.

6 wickets out of 6 lost to sweep or reverse sweep shots today... That said we have scored a high percentage of runs with those shots today. Mooen should’ve been not out but reviews were wasted earlier on.

I feel like we need a lead of 250, currently 173 ahead.

Lead up to 213 for the loss of 6 wickets (one of them being Leach). With Curran and Rashid to come after Root and Foakes, we're looking well set.

100 up for Root, crazy day really, England scoring at over 5 an over for large parts but getting out to the sweep over and over again. As said on Sky if England win then it is a great plan , if SL chase it down then it is rather stupid. We will see.

Rashid given LBW when he hit it, England suffering from silly use of reviews earlier (Moeen would have had his reversed as well)

Off for bad light at 324 - 9, a lead of 278. Foakes has just brought his fifty up with a 6.
