Historic day in Dublin today, it's been a long, hard and winding road but TEST STATUS has arrived :scarfer:

Ireland v Pakistan: Hosts impress in inaugural Test

Ireland, the only undefeated Test Cricket side in the world.

^ They should draft Eoin Morgan back into the test side just for that match.

Excellent knock by Kevin O'Brien today, really pulled the Irish back into the game with a decent lead to think about defending, after looking pretty ominous earlier in the day and the prospect of losing by an innings.

That turn around is what makes Test cricket the best form of the game.

Read a bit in Thursday's paper (could have been any redtop,I was pissed up and it was lying around in the pub) anyhow, Root and Ed Smith have decided that Root has to bat at 3. Sadly, it's a tour too late.

Agreed - it is the start of proper cricket - red ball, whites, thick heavy cloud overhead!

I don't know why but Joe Root has the most slappable face in all of world sport. Something about him just annoys the hell out of me.

Eng 35/2

Cook might also be gone on review...

There is plenty about the current Pakistan and Indian seam options that will be giving England batsmen sleepless nights this summer

72-3 England hang on, always tough on the first morning at Lords, they need a big partnership this afternoon to make Batting first worthwhile.

168 for 6. Yet again really up against it with another first innings score unless the tail can wag.

And there goes Buttler driving. Christ almighty. 168 for 7. Lost Stokes 2 balls ago and a debutant at the other end. Brainless.

I haven't seen any of today's play, but It's as though they don't play at Lords at all.... if you win the toss at Lords, don't look down at the ground, look up to the sky.

That was dire. Same old story. Some absolutely brainless batting once again. Stokes went and Buttler tries an extravagant drive 2 balls later. Just daft.

Cook looked in decent nick though.

Is Wood the least threatening 88mph bowler ever? Every delivery seems to just go laser straight.

Need to get a few early tomorrow before it heats up and the morning dampness burns away.
