Re: Snooker
I can see where the dislike for Trump comes from, but when I hear interviews from Judd I think he's okay.
Anyway, if you look at the break in frame 4 today and the speed of it, you just have to appreciate his A game.
Trump's A game is up there with Ronnie's A game. I can't name any other player coming close to that other than Trump.

Re: Snooker
Am I missing something here, why is John Higgins complaining about the Scheduling of the Final and the session times?
Hasn't it been that way for years.

Full white pudding supper, Glasgow salad (chips), 2 x full sugar Irn Bru. Probably polished off with a deep fried family sized Toblerone.

I hope Higgins makes a fight of this, no matter who is playing, I never enjoy a one sided Final and at the moment Trump is rinsing Higgins.

Left the Snooker on while I'm watching the Baseball
Trump is putting on a master class. (11-5)
With any luck Trump will win the final frame tonight and then go onto win tomorrow 18-5.
Seeing Higgins thrashed would be fantastic.

I remember Parrot playing a magnificent session in the final once, i think going 9 up, but that was up there with the best sessions ever produced there. Awesome snooker by Trump.

Re: Snooker
Trump leads 12-5.
But I'm still not ruling out Higgins, remember last year he was 14-7 down to Williams and got it back to 15-15.
If Higgins does that to Trump, then I think we will see another Hendry/White situation. (14-8 to 14-18)

Re: Snooker
It will take all the fighting qualities Higgins has to turn this around and I'm not sure there's much left in the well. This could finish a session early, hope I'm wrong but Higgins has had 3 tough battles with Bingham, Robertson and Gilbert and maybe it's taken its toll, Trump on the other hand looks like he's been keeping some powder dry for the Final.

Re: Snooker
Higgins will not be rolling over, that's for sure.
The 'advantage' Higgins has now, is that he has nothing to lose. He will play without any fear or stress. He will play like he would on a practice table, so I expect his A game.
But that will not determine the end result. Even if Higgins brings his A game, he will not be able to pull back that deficit if Trump delivers.
Like I've said here before: if Trump plays his A game, like he did last night, there is hardly any player who can match him. Maybe not even O'Sullivan.
But O'Sullivan & Higgins their B & C games are much better than Trump's B or C game, that's why Trump has 'only' won two majors yet.
So the question is: will Trump turn up today or not. I hope he does.
And I think he will. Trump is a player who relishes playing on the big stage and playing the big boys. I honestly think the final would've been much closer if it would've been Gilbert vs Trump. Because Trump would be underestimating Gilbert I think.
Higgins wasn't even bad yesterday, he played solid, scoring a few centuries. His best I the tournament probably. You just have to hold your hand up and say 'that guy was just too good'. That long pot down the cushion in the penultimate frame last night was pure class.

For that frame and that frame only, I become a dedicated John Higgins fan. The One time, and he lets me down.
I mentioned this wait for a 147 to my missus the other day, "What, really with all the snooker you watch. I used to watch a bit of Snooker with my dad and I saw Jimmy White make a 147"
Rub it in why don't you.
Mind you that 147 by White, was the same night West Ham (Kenny Brown) beat Man United 1-0 at the Boleyn to stop them winning the League Title. One of my favourite nights at the great and sadly missed Boleyn.

Re: Snooker
Does your Missus remember the Tony Drago bear hug?
That was back when a 147 was still quite a rarity.
I seem to recall that even back in the days of it being The Embassy WC, they offered £147k for it
Is worth sod all now I believe.

Re: Snooker
I will ask her.
Didn't Bingham make a 147 this season and the prize was just £500
Remember when O'Sullivan needed just to pot the last black, asked the ref what the prize money was and when the ref said there isn't one, O'sullivan decided not to pot the final black.
Thankfully the ref had a word and said you may not care but these fans who paid good money to come and watch you do.
I think in this years WC, It's £50,000.

Re: Snooker
Ronnie potted that last black, yes. But there was another moment somewhere in China where he purposely potted a pink instead of a black when he was on 13 blacks or something. So he ended up on a 146.brothernero wrote:I will ask her.
