Cheers Souly. Always the bridesmaid! Had Rose won yesterday I'd have taken it.

Re: Ryder Cup Prediction Comp
thanks souly
i backed fleetwood to be top european point scorer and top overall points scorer @ 10/1 and 18/1 respectively
i wanted molinari to lose on sunday - then as soon as fleetwood went a couple behind cheered him on again - it didnt feel right to be honest

Oh well, I didn’t come last at least. Big Phil & Fowler let me down. Not sure Spieth did much either. Not that I’m that bothered of course. Should have had more faith in the Europeans.

No, that was me!! Although I was very happy to be so wrong!Cockneyboy311 wrote:Oh well, I didn’t come last at least. Big Phil & Fowler let me down. Not sure Spieth did much either. Not that I’m that bothered of course. Should have had more faith in the Europeans.
I had a shocker this time round. I went with the general consensus that this was a very strong USA side and could only see one outcome. I was very close with the actual score, if not the right team, I went 17 -11 !!! My European picks were fine, especially Fleetwood, but I went with Fowler, De Chambeau and to make it even worse went with Tiger Woods as Captain - 1 win from those three. I mean, Tiger Woods as Captain when he has a piss poor Ryder Cup record. What was I thinking? I guess I got carried away with the euphoria of his comeback win the week before. Tiger looked like he just didn't want to be there, as did several of the USA team - too many individuals. What is they say on all those corporate training events, There's no I in team
I should have known better though, I've been following the Ryder Cup since Walton Heath in 1979 and have seen so often that whilst the USA always seem to have the stronger players on paper, it is the Europeans that gel as a team and the sum of their whole is greater than its parts.
Anyway, belated congratulations to DC and thanks as always Souly.
