Carl Froch clearly only watches boxing when he is paid to
He is the Jamie Redknapp of boxing

Thank god Povetkin did what he did, my bet had 28 seconds left with £250 on it, close shave
Main event was pretty boring, ref was annoying, Joshua just too tall for him really, Parker hung in well but never any danger, pretty shocking card overall

Re: Boxing thread
Froch was a decent enough boxer and a very good fighter but he blows his achievements up way too much, he got absolutely schooled by Ward, I just wish Calzaghe would have embarrassed him, that would have been beautiful.

Re: Boxing thread
Joshua vs Miller, in the UK, next would be interesting, get that fried chicken eating tub of s**t out of the equation, and then I can imagine it will be Povetkin after, easy work. That said, Whyte could end up fighting Miller next if he doesn't fight Ortiz. Either way, Wilder is going to be keeping the WBC belt hostage for a bit longer, probably taking on Breazeale next or some other slightly above average Heavyweight.
If Fury gets back to anywhere near his best it could be an amazing time for British Heavyweight boxing if Whyte can find another level or two. It's nice to see the Americans so envious of what we have here.

Kubrat Pulev ordered to fight Dillian Whyte in an eliminator by the IBF. Good step up for Whyte, will be an interesting watch.

Re: Boxing thread
That was one of the most boring fights I've seen in a while. Joshua jabbing and the ref breaking up any threat of a fight at every opportunity. The scorecards were generous too, Parker gave it a go but the ref didn't give him a chance.

Re: Boxing thread
Wilder-Joshua fight looking a little more likely.
Be interesting to watch Joshua avoid those ludicrous windmilling fists. He has shown that he is able to avoid a lightly thrown tennis ball on his Youtube training vids though, so should be alright.
I just can't get excited over Joshua, I think he is absolutely dog average and would be shown to be just that in almost any other era.

Hearn and co trying to brainwash the British public about Wilder already
They should gather up all the comments from Sky Boxing for an episode of Mythbusters one day

Re: Boxing thread
I hope nobody gives him one, it's time to retire, he looks like an idiot, arched over, arms shaking around with his chin stuck out. Probably a lovely bloke but five defeats, all by early KO, says it all.chigwells finest wrote: hoping for 1 last big payday vs 1 of 3 uk fighters, just pleased i didnt pay £ 20 for that fight

Re: Boxing thread
By most accounts he's too nice a bloke and just isn't aggressive enough. He never looked like winning that fight and was dead on his feet.

Re: Boxing thread
F**k knows who Golovkin will fight in four weeks time, I can't believe how little is being made of the super fight the following weekend though. Lomachenko vs Linares could be a fascinating spectacle, I'm a huge fan of both, even if the latter got lucky against Kev a few years ago. Two technically brilliant boxers, I think Lomachenko will edge it, he really is something else, mesmerising at times.

Lomachenko wins fairly easily I think.Jumby wrote:F**k knows who Golovkin will fight in four weeks time, I can't believe how little is being made of the super fight the following weekend though.
