I think you've misunderstood his post. I read it as he is supporting Curbs (hence thumbs up) but maybe I've misunderstood him. Or perhaps I've misunderstood you. Could it be that he has misunderstood the question? It's all getting rather complicated.cockney boy wrote: Guess I'm living in cloud cuckoo land then. I suppose you think Curbs should have got us into Europe, especially as we've been so lucky with a relatively injury free season. Sometimes I despair.

Negative tactics and a complete lack of rapport with the Supporters mean a No from me.
also I have a £10 bet with my mate that he'll be gone by the start of next season.

Despite the possible question mark over man-management skill, I voted 'yes'.
Curbishley is capable of delivering consistent prospects of top ten finishes.

Yes, but like so many others it is with reservations. You cannot sack a man who has done everything asked of him thus far. But now is the time to kick on and start to excite people with his management style. With two or three new signings and everybody fit he will have no excuses if it dosnt happen. I hope he sorts it cos he is a genuine fella, but if he dosnt, a similar poll to this at christmas will make very different reading. As I said then a cautious yes from me.

Stay of course. All the comparisons with Charlton are made on the wrong basis - ie that he made them mid table Prem and made us mid table and will do no more.
The relevant stat from Charlton is that he took them out of the second tier - their natural home - where they'd been for 40 years, got them established in the Prem, mid table, sometimes challenging for Europe. When he left they were relegated.
Evidence, therefore, is that he punches at least 'one level above his weight' and possibly more. Lots of continued eveidence this season, where, with the problems we've had, I recckon most managers would have seen us in the relegation zone.
Hasn't had a chance this season. Give him a fit team, and you'll see.

Re: Alan Curbishley: the end of season poll
Yes for me, and this is why:
I think that although we did play boring football for most of the season, our goal was to reach mid table stability. The injury situation was shocking and certainly didn't help Curbs with getting the fans off his back.
He should be given at least one more season to try and get the right people in, players and medical staff. If he can reduce the wage bill and buy a gem or two, we'll be ok.

Re: Alan Curbishley: the end of season poll
ideally no. if could get a top manager in then i wouldnt hesitate... but who could we get?
I would probably stretch to giving him another half season, with a full pre season and the summer to sort out injuries there can be no excuses.
start as we finished this season though & he has to go.
clicking unsure because if we sign carr & kewell then i wouldnt even give him half a season

Re: Alan Curbishley: the end of season poll
Yes, I think stability is very important as has been said already he deserves a chance with new signings, Nani, new training/med set-up and therefore fewer injuries. I'd review performance again in December and if we're bottom half it might be time to pack the suitcase. I don't think that's going to be the case though.

Re: Alan Curbishley: the end of season poll
It's a yes from me but he must:
1. Sort out the physio room and sack of a few of his mates if necessary
2. Show a bit more transfer nous than the Newcastle treatment room of 2004.....
3. Ensure we keep Ashton, Green, Parker and Upson
4. Be ruthless in clearing out the dead wood
Tenth place was a great result considering we lost Tevez and his direct replacement Bellamy spent all season either injured or pissed up in Vegas!

And finally proof the anti-Curbs sector can't claim to represent the majority.

Yeah because 143 voters on a Monday morning on KUMB represent the 30,000 that turn up to home games.Scaloni Is The Messiah wrote:And finally proof the anti-Curbs sector can't claim to represent the majority.

No for me. I know he has done a decent enough job but I have great reservations about the type of football his sides play and besides, to be perfectly honest, I don't think we are going anywhere with him.

Doesn't going from relegation certainties to a top-half Premier League side in 12 months constitute going somewhere?Puff Daddy wrote:No for me. No. Based on his transfer policy. Negative style of play and incompetant backroom staff.
