He was frustrated at spending restrictions.....but considering that he's been out of work for almost a year he would probably be happy to do anything!

Hopefully this is highly unlikely.....but there are rumours that he's being interviewed and I can't see the likes of Bilic and Mancini not taking the job without the promise of substantial backing...where a scottish ex Hibs manager might be slighty different!

Given that our next manager probably won't be signing he's own player either an International manger shouldn't matter.

The job basically entails pick a team from a closed pool of players and then finding a way for them to play together successfully.

Billic has done this.

Also, he's not the type of person you f**k with. Or atleast that's my perception.

He knows football well, any one who has heard him speak about the modern game and how tactics shift must realise that he understands the game, and vitally is innovative.

Fergusson never was, he brought the 451 in years back when it was big in europe and never made it work. Mourinho did, he started something and now how many sides play his 433/451 system?

Billic for me, if we can get him.

The 433/451 transition was the best formation I've ever seen us play, and that was Ipswich Away (Playoff away leg).

And that was Pards.....

I still want Bilic and still feel he could be tempted but not until after the England game. I wont complain if we get Mancini/Donadoni.

Also i want permission to start a Sam Allardyce prevention thread.

I dont want Bilic anywhere near the team, he treated us as bad as Ince but at least Ince has apologized.

At the moment Mancini is the runaway winner on here.....and every hammer in my office, pub, family has all said that Mancini is the man they want.

Hopefully the board will be monitoring things on here to try and alleviate some of the pressure on them and try and win us over......

So John Collins it is then!

Cant believe 61 people wouldn't have ANY of the short listed managers.

Who the hell are you holding out for?

When he told spuds his minimum release clause in his contract £2.5 million, which spuds then offerd, it was turned down only because the club had to agree to it, so he signed a new contract witn an $4.5 minimum realsea clause in it, and the part were the club had to agree was taken out, which was leaked to Everton, they offered, he left to'wins things' only for West Ham to finish abouve them for the next few years to come.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the board will bowl us a googly.

From statements by both the board and Bilic it's obvious that we want him and he wants us, but there's the little matter of the World Cup qualifiers. Don't rule out Keen staying in charge until the new year and Slaven taking over after Croatia are through.

daniel wrote:Mancini with Di Canio as his assistant for me. With Mancini as manager you know what you're getting and I doubt he'll join us unless he's promised full control which is encouraging. Billic is unrealistic as I do not think he'll walk out on Croatia.
Why do you say that? You do realise how Italian clubs are run?
