The thoughts of Chairman Brown – a reply
Quality piece ESM. This must be printed in a national newspaper!!, it has to be seen by everyone that loves football, not just WH fans.
I know people have mentioned it here already, but in all seriousness can anyone get this printed?

Additional thoughts
Mr. Brown likes to emphasize in his answers to people sending him letters that (league-)football has changed over the years and has become a business rather than a sport.
I agree with Mr. Brown. However, in every business that fails its goals and targets the CEO and/or those responsible for the negative trend have to take responsibility and leave the company. Mr. Roeder, the executive board members and Mr. Brown are still in the company.
A member of the club’s board since 1990 and club chairman since May 1992, Mr. Brown is in charge of West Ham United for about a decade during which English football has gone through a major transformation. West Ham United with its large and loyal supporter base, its youth academy and its location in the city of London had similar or even better assets and requisites that other clubs like Charlton, Tottenham and even Arsenal and Chelsea had since the foundaton of the Premier League. Mr. Brown has failed to transform West Ham United into a top club despite having similar preconditions than our local rivals over the last 10 years.
The mismanagement charge against Mr. Brown is not about the sale of Joe Cole or any other individual player. The relegation and the sale of Joe Cole may have been the trigger for this protest. However, Mr. Brown has mismanaged this club for over 10 years during his reign - mismanaged by failing to transform West Ham United into a competing and stable Premiership side despite having the same, similar or even better preconditions than other Premiership Londoner clubs had.
In every business of the world, Mr. Brown, the board and the management would be on their way out.
The next GM will show if West Ham United is a sound business which will vote against Mr. Brown and his obviously failed business plan or a personal toy of Mr. Brown devoted to jobbery and nepotism.
