I thought 2nd and 3rd were much better than the winner that year!Up the Junction wrote:05/06 ... " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Goal of the noughties [POLL]
mr boss man you have di canio chelsea at home, but it was just a tap in the winner at the bridge was the best goal by far that season, and would be my second behind coles at wigan and zamora at ipswich but alas i can't bloody vote for that

We were certainly spolit for choice that year!Up the Junction wrote:05/06 ... " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But I'd agree that Anton's just about shaded it. Perfect technique, with back to goal, and right in the top corner
Comedy moment (well it made me laugh anyway)- after Harewood scores (vs ManU I think), and is celebrating near the corner flag, Etherington comes sprinting in and jumps at him.......in any normal circumstances, someone jumping at you with all that momentum would knock you flat. But not Marlon. He just catches Ethers, and barely flinches! :lol:

Blame this lot, they voted for itsicknote wrote: you have di canio chelsea at home, but it was just a tap in the winner at the bridge was the best goal by far that season, and would be my second behind coles at wigan and zamora at ipswich but alas i can't bloody vote for that
Agree that the Bridge goal is technically superior in every way ... and I would stick all 30 in a poll but that's going to look stupid. Maybe we can have the top six winning goals from this poll and two of each from the second and thirds (if that makes sense) for a final ten?
That should keep us busy for the summer ... unless anyone's got any better ideas ... roll on August ...
Re: Goal of the noughties [POLL]
i thought that was the goal ya was talking about so voted for it, just thought ya got the home and away mixed up

Re: Goal of the noughties [POLL]
UTJ, the poll says : 2002/03 Paolo Di Canio v Chelsea (h)
However you say :
However you say :
I think this is what sicknote was saying2002/03
1. PAOLO DI CANIO vs CHELSEA (a) (74.4%)
2. PAOLO DI CANIO vs CHELSEA (h) (18.1%)
3. TREVOR SINCLAIR vs SUNDERLAND (6.15%)
Paolo Di Canio won this particular award (for the third time in four seasons no less) thanks to that stunning volley against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Collecting a throw on he teed it up with one foot before smashing home an unstoppable dipping volley from all of 25 yards. The aforementioned farewell goal was your second favourite of the season, whilst Sinc's equally marvellous volley at the Stadium of Light deservedly came in third.

Re: Goal of the noughties [POLL]
If Bellamy was still at West Ham the Newcastle Away Goal would have strongly rivalled the Wigan Cole Goal this Year & should have made this list but he isn't & it isn't so Cole win this for me too with PDC Chelsea & the bartez Goal comin g second & third for sheer euphoria !! :raver:
